General Description of the Programme:

SENED is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization licensed and registered in Türkiye with the number 27-15-175. SENED Organization was established shortly after the Syrian Nakba and in response to the suffering of millions of Syrian refugees in Turkey as well as internally displaced people in Syria, to alleviate suffering, achieving justice, equality, and freedom, strengthening the role of civil society, and supporting and developing the local community. SENED works in the humanitarian work sectors to support, empower, and educate the community through several programs, takes exceptional care of people with disabilities and their families and defends their issues.

SENED Association emphasizes creating safe, accessible, and participation-encouraging living conditions for individuals’ emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development by focusing on people with disabilities. Beyond the medical perspective on disability, it tries to find solutions to the problems faced by disabled people with a holistic perspective by considering the disabled people, their families, and the society they live in, focusing on the conditions they experience. SENED Association aims to create a safe and supportive environment and space by conducting family-oriented activities to help disabled individuals and their families become stronger, discover their potential and stand by with their children. By collecting data on refugee-disabled people and identifying problems and needs, SENED strives to ensure harmony between disabled refugees and local people with a voluntary, professional team and a community-based approach. All activities, education, research, advocacy, etc., are carried out on platforms created by local and disabled refugee people.

Job purpose:

To supervise and implement special needs rehabilitation, awareness-raising the sessions and Psycho-education sessions, conduct technical assessments for beneficiaries and refer them according to their needs

Duties, objectives, and competencies:

  1. Provide technical assessment to define the needs of CwDs (children with disabilities) and their caregivers
  2. Prepare a care plan for each beneficiary according to their technical assessment, including capacity building of the caregiver
  3. Implement SNR sessions according to the care plan of CwDs, and update the care plan if needed
  4. Implement psycho-education sessions for caregivers
  5. Implement awareness-raising sessions about disability-related topics
  6. Update case workers about SNR beneficiaries, and report when the sessions will be finalized.
  7. Advise case workers about the needs of beneficiaries and the services/assistive devices they need
  8. Support case workers for internal and external referrals
  9. Reporting and assisting the Project Manager in writing project reports.
  10. Record registered SNR beneficiaries, their technical assessments and SNR session attendances in the database in a timely manner, update information as necessary and ensure that progress is updated in the database,
  11. Maintain highly organized technical assessment hard copy files, update the database on a regular basis, and cooperate with the case management team
  12. Contribute to project strategies and to programme development in the health and protection sector.

Requirements: Essential

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or any other relevant field.
  2. Intermediate skills in the English language.
  3. Advanced skills in the Arabic language.
  4. Minimum of 2 year of proven experience in a similar position.
  5. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Humanitarian sector.
  6. Advanced skills in the English language
  7. Intermediate skills in the Turkish language.
  8. Verified experience in humanitarian work and principles.
