Position Purpose

A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit organization that provides relief to survivors of natural disasters. The position is full-time and is responsible for managing project workflow and ensuring the quality and safety of all work carried out.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Project Manager (daily work flow is managed by the Construction Site Coordinator)
  • Roles reporting to position Team Leaders
  • The approximate number of reports 2-5

Essential Functions

  • Support CSC to implement an agreed set of safety and quality standards and design site protocols to ensure these standards are maintained.
  • Support the CSC in managing local masons, subcontractors and volunteers and assigning the site tasks accordingly.
  • Responsible for the quality control and work efficiency of the construction tasks and processes delegated by CSC and PM.
  • Liaise with the Construction Site Coordinator to manage workflow and ensure there are sufficient people to meet the demands of the work.
  • Maintain accurate tracking systems of work completed, current progress and the site deliveries. Support the CSC with on site tracking and completing site diary and work logs.
  • Together with the CSC, hold daily morning meetings on-site to deliver health and safety briefings and divide the work for a day,
  • Responsible for working towards professional development following the site supervisor training matrix.
  • Hold monthly skill matrix updates with PM and CSC to accurately track progress.
  • Provides on-site technical support to Team Leaders and supports the CSC to implement Team Leader’s training and hold regular (daily and weekly) Team Leaders meetings.
  • We understand vaccination is the best way to protect our beneficiaries, community members, staff and volunteers, therefore we require all of our on program staff members to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To be considered for this position you must be fully vaccinated. Subject to applicable guidance, the term fully vaccinated currently refers to when an individual has received either a single-shot vaccine or both doses of a two-shot vaccine, and two weeks have elapsed since the final dose.

Position Requirements

  • Education High School Diploma or equivalent. Education in a construction relevant field preferred.
  • Related Experience Must have a minimum of 1-year professional construction experience. Previous international travel experience, preferably in developing countries.
  • Special Competencies/Certifications Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate visas. Excellent written and oral communication skills and confidence working with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. The applicant needs to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. Must have a good understanding of construction and demolition in practice. Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems and the ability to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay rate is $600-$900 USD/ month, based on position, skills and experience
