Humedica

humedica e.V. is a German humanitarian organization, established in 1979 with the mandate of responding to medical and non-medical relief and disaster emergencies in the world. humedica has been operating in Lebanon since 2012 and is currently funded by Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). humedica is supporting Primary Health Care Centers (PCHs) for both Lebanese and Syrian patients. It provides services for mental and psychosocial health both through its own staff as well as partner institutions. In addition, humedica engages in outreach programmes to bolster health resilience of the target communities. It also operates a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), providing primary health care and medication to Syrian inhabitants of so-called informal tented settlements (ITS) in the Bekaa Valley.

Short-term Consultant – End of Project Evaluation

Bekaa Valley / Libanon

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

The aim of this external evaluation is to assess general progresses that were achieved through above mentioned BMZ-funded project activities as well as key lessons learnt. Furthermore, it should identify areas where there is room for improvement in potential future engagements.

Another objective of this evaluation is to determine how effective humedica has been in building on the findings of the End of Project Evaluation of the preceding BMZ-funded project, carried out in 2020.

TIMEFRAME

The evaluation is planned to start end of September 2022 and comprise 20 consulting days, of which at least 10 days will be spent on-site in Lebanon.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in conducting programme/project evaluations in humanitarian contexts
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in humanitarian/development planning and implementation
  • Extensive research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Facilitation and management skills
  • Knowledge of UN system in general and UNHCR in particular
  • Knowledge of primary health care services
  • Fluency in English and Arabic language
  • Preferrable: Experience in the region
