Job Posting Description:

SharePoint Administrator and Developer

Do you want to be part of the LCBO’s exciting transformation, explore new and innovative technologies, and make your mark? Reporting to the SharePoint Team Lead, you will be the point person for all SharePoint-related issues and maintenance and manage the SharePoint intranet portal and related custom .NET applications. You will play a major part in planning and the migration from SharePoint on-prem to Online. This will involve configuring, administering and troubleshooting SharePoint farm, sites, solutions and .NET applications as well as addressing Service desk tickets. In addition to administrative duties, the role is the main point of contact for internal user issues/questions regarding SharePoint and related applications and provides training and support as needed. This role will also participate in an on-call rotation schedule.

About The Role

  • Migration of SharePoint 2013/2016 to SharePoint Online
  • Migrate the content into SharePoint Online sites with migration tools or manual procedures
  • Perform testing of SharePoint Online sites or components as developed by the Team
  • Monitor SharePoint environment for any critical issues and problems, oversee activity pertaining to the maintenance of SharePoint.
  • Be responsible for servers in SharePoint farm, including set-up and configuration of SharePoint Services on Servers, maintenance of Web Frontend Servers, Application Servers, Search/Indexing Servers, and some aspects of maintaining Database Servers
  • Be responsible for the creation and maintenance of Sites and Site Collections, as well as all associated databases.
  • Be responsible for qualification, installation, and maintenance of any Plug-in, Feature, Web Part, Template or Solution, including 3rd party software or applications.
  • Be responsible for backup and recovery practices and maintaining integrity and reliability of the access to information.
  • Be responsible for set-up, configuration, and maintaining Excel Services, PowerPivot Service, Search Service, SQL Server Reporting Services, User Profile Service, etc.
  • Troubleshoot issues promptly and provides technical support for SharePoint users.
  • Writing technical documents, and user guides, and developing training material for various aspects of the SharePoint implementation.
  • Provide training sessions and demos of deliverables for SharePoint users, Content Managers and Site Owners

Initiatives and projects

  • Analyze and evaluate projects completed by external resources for compliance with contractual requirements and LCBO standards
  • Liaise with users throughout the project lifecycle to ensure effective planning for changes to user environments and user participation in all phases of the project
  • Work closely with Team Leads and IT Managers for development timelines
  • Provide awareness and education to users and project team members on the effective use of new systems technology, as well as training to new team members
  • Provide project leadership and technical guidance as an SME to project team members by meeting regularly with the project team to review progress, problems, corrective action and alternatives, convey management and user view of projects, report on relevant decisions and any design requirements or changes
  • Other duties as required.

About You

  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics or related field or equivalent experience
  • Sound knowledge of project management methodologies and practices
  • Experience in the migration of SharePoint 2013/2016 to SharePoint Online
  • Experience using migration tool such at Microsoft and ShareGate is an asset
  • Experience in configuring, maintaining and supporting SharePoint Online (both content publishing and team sites)
  • Advanced technical knowledge and expertise in implementing .NET solutions using C# utilizing client-side frameworks like React or Angular, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience with SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Azure, Office 365, and RESTful Web Services
  • Experience with Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, InfoPath, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint Designer and Workflows
  • Experience with store procedures, triggers and functions is an asset
  • Analytical problem-solving skills, programming and data modelling skills are necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in report generation
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and demonstrated customer service skills. Authorization Line 12.01
  • Ability to work in a team and individually when needed.
  • Experience working with large-scale production environments requiring minimal downtime.
  • Experience supporting Office 365 and SharePoint Online product – configuring, administrating, developing, and deploying solutions is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in PowerApps design, and development is an asset.
  • Knowledge is SPFX is an asset
