Purpose of the Role Reporting to the Head of Purchasing, the company is looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual who is looking to pursue a career within the purchasing arena. Working in a highly challenging environment with continual fluctuating demand you will be trained to become part of a professional purchasing team which is required to service the requirements of extremely busy internal customers. Responsibilities will extend but will not be limited to:-Identifying and sourcing components based on quality and price and identify areas of improvement within the supply chainObtaining quotes from existing approved suppliers
Negotiating prices with suppliers
Placing material and subcontract orders from written and verbal requisition requests with approved suppliers
Accountability for order placed, expediting orders and chasing outstanding deliveries
Resolving invoice and delivery queries with suppliers
Carry out duties as and when directed by the Head of Purchasing
Comply with Risk Assessments, Method Statements and the Health and Safety Management System
Ensure compliance with the management systems requirement for the Environment and Quality by working to company policies and procedures
Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required To be successful in this role you will:

Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal with a confident telephone manner
Have good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise between various competing tasks
Demonstrate initiative, not be fazed by problems, and have an ability to find solutions
Be a Team-player and have an ability to work on your own initiative Qualifications
Microsoft Office experience essential with good numeracy and literacy skills
