Sessional Registrar

Would you like to be part of a couple’s special day? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of Sessional Registrars to conduct weddings and civil partnerships at our registration offices, religious buildings and approved premises in the London Borough of Hackney.

Representing the Council in these duties you will be required to conduct yourself in a professional manner both in attitude and appearance. The ability to comply with legislation, excellent communication and customer care skills are all essential.

Experience of public speaking and IT is also important as is working well with others as part of a team with commitment and reliability being a crucial part of the role. Previous experience of working in a Register Office is advantageous, however we are happy to train the right candidate who matches the required skills and competencies but who does not have a registration background.

Due to the nature of the work, the post holder will be required to work mainly weekends and bank holidays and hours worked will be dependent on the wedding season and demand.
