JOB TITLE: Service Improvement Manager
LOCATION: The Round House, Ashington
SALARY: £35,000
ACCOUNTABLE AND REPORTING TO: Head of Operations
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Continuous improvement, innovation and
development of new and existing services
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To support the continuous improvement of
existing AUKN services (primarily Homecare) and
the development of new services to support older
persons in Northumberland.
The Key result areas of the role:
1. Support the diversification of Homecare and other services for older
people across Northumberland
2. Take responsibility for all aspects of the implementation of new services
& opportunities, following approval by the Board/SubCommittee of
appropriate business cases. Ensure that services developed are of high
quality, meet customer need and are financially sustainable
3. Support the compliance of all services to the Care Act, CQC regulations,
Contractual obligations and AUKN policies and processes to ensure the
highest quality of Homecare and associated services, at all times, with
operations running 24 hours per days 365 days per year.
4. Developing, negotiating and retaining contracts for services in
accordance with business plan targets.
5. Leading a continuous improvement culture, which maximizes the
contribution and potential of staff, feedback from customers and other

THE MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE:
• Support Head of Operations and Registered Manager in the performance,
quality and business growth of Homecare.
• Provide excellent customer service to both clients and stakeholders.
• Support AUKN quality agenda, ensuring services comply with National
Essential Standards laid down in the Health and Social Care Act 2008
(Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission
(Registration) Regulations 2009 and continues to meet its requirements for
registration. This will include continual review and development of all service
systems, risk and quality management related policies and procedures.
• Ensure full performance management, including quality standards and
controls are in place for all services delivered by Homecare.
• Provide strategic advice to the Head of Operations so that they will have
accurate view of the sector and the future.
• Create initiatives to take advantage of sector opportunities, reduce
operational threats, forestall risks, and maximise core strengths.
• Uphold and demonstrate the values of AUKN to deliver its mission and aims.
• To contribute to and work effectively as part of the Senior Team to influence
and deliver strategic plans.
• In order to be able to meet the responsibilities associated with this role
candidates will need to be able to drive to locations across Northumberland,
provide evidence that they have received their Covid 19 vaccination .
• It is also expected that candidates will have already achieved their Level 4
NVQ in Health & Social Care qualification and previous experience as a
Registered Manager is preferred.
