Position Summary

  • The Field Service Engineer is responsible for on-site repair or services of Gatan-Edax’s full product range. Field Service covering SEM/TEM products, to include installations, service, repair and training. This position requires up to 80% travel. Preference given to those candidates with a strong background in microscopy.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • On-site customer installation, service support, limited telephone support, hardware and software configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for Gatan-Edax products.
  • Ensure repaired systems meet operating specifications, documenting service performed.
  • Propose design enhancements and improvements.
  • Read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams through to the component level.
  • Isolate the system fault at the component level for electronic, vacuum, and mechanical systems and repair.
  • Document work performed in a service report.
  • Complete billing or warranty documentation as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision in an isolated environment.
  • Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm and innovation with strong client service attitude.
  • Ability to work on complex learning and development problems as well as teach highly technical information is essential.
  • Ability to interface with people at all levels.
  • Good oral and written skills in English.
  • Ability to frequently travel. Mainly in the France, Belgium, Switzerland ( French part ), Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco and Spain, Portugal.
  • Bac +2/+3, License Pro, Bac +5, in the Scientific fields – IUT/DUT Mesures Physiques /Industriel / Génie des Matériaux / Electronics
  • Strong customer service ethos with ability to train /teach technical information to users.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experienced service engineer of complex lab equipment and systems, i.e. electron microscopes (TEM/SEM), sample preparation equipment, semiconductor equipment, medical or other similar.

MISSION PRINCIPALE

L’ingénieur Service a pour mission principale de réaliser différentes activités chez les clients dépendamment de sa BU de rattachement. La BU détermine la zone géographique ainsi que la liste des produits.

PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITES

Missions principales : – Former les clients sur les produits vendus par Ametek – Réaliser des projets de service sur site client ou dans les locaux Ametek – Préparer et réaliser des démonstrations avant-ventes ainsi que des benchmarks sur des applications avancées – En collaboration avec l’équipe Support Technique, fournir une assistance de première ligne en matière de dépannage et d’application – Agir en tant que référence technique lors d’évènements marketing ou commerciaux (salon, lancement de produits, portes-ouvertes…) – Faire remonter des opportunités aux équipes de ventes – Garantir un relationnel de qualité avec les clients en les informant des interventions sur le matériel et en le conseillant sur les aspects techniques du matériel – Analyser et faire remonter aux équipe R&D, Support technique et Marketing les situations rencontrées chez les clients afin d’
