Overview of position:

• Under the overall supervision of the Operations Officer & the direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia, the successful candidate will be responsible, accountable for efficient, smooth functions & proper maintenance of our clients warehouse in support to the implementation of the Typhoon Wutip Reconstruction Project in Chuuk state.

Role objectives:

• Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation in line with our clients standards & procedures.
• Responsible for supervising the day to day activities of team members to ensure operation runs smoothly.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials or items & proper recording of stock movements.
• Ensure that the work environment is healthy & conducive for workers / crew to carry out their duties without subjecting themselves to any harm or danger.
• Ensure a clean, tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency & maintain high standards of security in the warehouse.
• Compile accurate & timely overall monthly reports (stock / inventory report, asset management & procurement tracking / plan).
• Communicate with team members on a regular basis to make them aware of priorities, targets & operational requirements.
• Where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse.
• Where appropriate elevate the issue to a more senior level.
• Strictly adhere to our clients policies, procedures including prevention of sexual exploitation & abuse and promotion of a respectful work environment.
• Undertake work related travel at the request & approval of the COM.
• Other duties as assigned & needed to support the program objectives.

Project reporting:

• This role works under the overall supervision of the Operations Officer & the direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia.

Key competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field with 4 years of relevant professional experience or High School Certificate with 6 years of work experience.
• Experience as a Warehouse Team Leader with experience in supervising & motivating a team is preferred.
• Experience in supply management of which substantial exposure to our clients or any UN system or any international organization will be an advantage.
• At least some experience in material control, transport, distribution of items, inventory & building construction.
• Ability to motivate, develop & supervise others.
• Ability to direct, coordinate operations & multitask.
• Strong organizational, planning, task prioritizing & time management skills.
• Good working knowledge of health, safety & security requirements.
• Good interpersonal skills, diligence & dedication.
• Good communication skills.
• Fluency in English (oral & written).
• Working knowledge of Chuukese or any other Micronesian languages.

• This role has no team management responsibility.
