SRD Overview and Mandate
Syria Relief & Development (SRD) is a non-profit organization providing humanitarian aid to Syrians affected by violence, hunger, poverty, injury, and displacement. Our Mission is to provide crisis humanitarian relief and plant the seeds of sustainable development for the people of Syria. Our Vision is to maintain humanitarian relief and mobilize resources to develop a comprehensive agenda for sustainable development in Syria, SRD offices in Gaziantep, Turkey, and in NW Syria.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research potential vendors
- Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Review the quality of purchased products
- Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices
- Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
- Participates in developing and implementing the supply chain standard operating procedures;
- A clear and coherent distribution flow with adapted tools and standard product lists,
- Build the capacity of field-based staff on the proper management of stock through remote trainings, in-person trainings (in Syria and Turkey), and on-job coaching;
- Support SRD partners and supported facilities to comply with national and international standards
- Work in collaboration with partners to develop and finalize stock orders in line with project requirements and donor regulations; Collect, verify, document, and manage all technical specifications for partner stock orders;
- Provide technical assistance and lead capacity-building efforts to strengthen partners’ abilities to adhere to Good Distribution Practices
- Any other relevant tasks upon the request of the Direct Manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- University degree in a related field
- Very good with MS Office applications software, especially Excel and Word.
- Minimum two years of experience
- Fluent in Arabic and English languages.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Flexible with work conditions changes.
- Ability to learn easily from others.
