The Senior Reporting Accountant will perform a wide variety of accounting and finance responsibilities, including the preparation of recurring and non-recurring journal entries, account reconciliations, various tasks in the monthly close process, P&L variance analysis, and the preparation or review of various other analyses. This role must also have a strong knowledge of general accounting concepts – IFRS/GAAP.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monthly preparation and/or review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and other analyses.
  • Review of periodic variances and variances to forecast and budget during the monthly close process, including research, written explanations and support on follow-up questions.
  • Perform or review various recurring and non-recurring tasks related to areas of accounting.
  • Develop relationships in other departments in order to resolve complex and urgent challenges.
  • Participate in peer meetings with other Accounting/Finance team members related to team development, monthly close planning, audit coordination and other applicable tasks.
  • Assist with preparation of audit work papers and respond to audit inquiries.
  • Participate in projects which may include: data review/analysis, systems testing, and reporting of results.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency or improve accuracy of results.
  • Other duties assigned to ensure overall departmental efficiency.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Other projects as requested.
  • Research accounting guidance and policies to complete memos related to accounting treatment of complex transactions.
  • Assist with annual budget process.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is considered a flexible role. Jobs in this category can be done either from home or in the office but are considered to be based in one of the two LeasePlan USA offices. Employees whose jobs fall into this category will generally have the flexibility to determine when they work in the office or at home in consultation with their manager. These employees also live near (within 50 miles) of a LeasePlan office.

POSITION TYPE/STANDARD SCHEDULE

This is a Full-time position and hours of work are Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Willing to work overtime as necessary, whether scheduled or not scheduled, during peak times and to support department goals or meet project deadlines.

TRAVEL

No travel is expected for this position.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors in Accounting.
  • CPA required.
  • 3 years in a similar environment.
  • JD Edward and AS400 experience a plus.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • History of process improvement.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
