Senior Regional Fundraiser

Location: Office base flexible in the Thames Valley area, can be based in Reading, Milton Keynes, or Abingdon with some home working

Contract type: 18 month fixed term contract until February 2024

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Are you an experienced Regional Fundraiser, looking for a new opportunity?

This is a job where no two days are the same; one day you might be asking a volunteer to help at a supermarket collection, the next you could be presenting to the CEO of a local company, working on a national partnership, applying to local trusts, or working at a fundraising event. If you are an experienced fundraiser who can work flexibly? f so this could be the ideal opportunity for you!

There is a lot of variety in the role, and our team come from many different backgrounds, but the common link we all share is we love working with people. Our community fundraisers work alongside the people who deliver our services in the UK, and they are responsible for developing a network of supporters to fund those services.

To be successful in this role, we hope you are:

  • A result driven individual who is focused on ensuring strategic, financial and non-financial objectives are delivered.
  • Able to achieve challenging objectives through working with a network of supporters and colleagues (eg to gain operational or project information for trust applications).
  • Able to hit the ground running and has ideally worked within a similar role or can demonstrate the relevant skills and experience required in the job description.
  • An effective communicator who can build relationships with supporters and donors will be crucial to ensure that we grow income to support the British Red Cross’ work.
  • Confident in your communications, from meeting with corporate contacts to creating successful asks in writing. You will be confident working independently with focus, drive and enthusiasm.
  • Pro-active in your approach to your work whilst being confident in supporting and motivating others to support us. If you are an experienced community fundraiser or have relevant transferable skills and are passionate about the work of the Red Cross, we would love to hear from you.

The Community Fundraising team work with supporters in local communities throughout the UK, at present we have some exciting potential partnerships with local Football teams. Our goal is to encourage and motivate our supporters to raise funds that will ensure that the British Red Cross grows income and can continue to help people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are.
