Role & Responsibilities

As a key player in the HR team, the Senior Recruitment Partner (SRP) is responsible for contributing to the implementation of Medair’s International recruitment strategy, project managing the Medair Relief and Recovery Orientation Course (ROC) and sourcing senior level candidates, following the recruitment process. The SRP is the senior member of a team of recruiters who nurture trusting relationships with alumni and potential candidates and liaise with key stakeholders to support individuals in a candidate-centric process ensuring that they experience a smooth, transparent and robust process as part of their employee life cycle.

Project Overview

Medair’s global HR function supports the organisation in the implementation of world class humanitarian aid projects by ensuring that the organisation has adequate systems and structures to efficiently recruit and retain the right people. The HR function is also working on impacting Medair’s culture by creating and sustaining a work environment where our values are fully alive and staff is being cared of through a “people to people” model.

Workplace & Working conditions

Global Support Office (GSO) position based in Lausanne, Switzerland. Up to 6 weeks national and international travel will be required. Swiss or eligible EU citizens, or those with a valid work permit for Switzerland, can apply.

Key Activity Areas

ROC Project Management

  • Oversee the project management and coordination of the ROC, including preparation, planning, communication and administration.
  • Continued improvement of the ROC, including planning and reviewing different formats and locations.
  • Ensure continuity of quality in ROC management with rotating ROC teams.
  • Collaborate with the Security Advisor to ensure safety and security for participants at the ROC as well as the fit-for-purpose security training and simulations within the ROC program.
  • Monitor the quality of presentations and lectures during the ROC , ensuring all activities are in line with Medair’s Diversity and Inclusion practices.
  • Line management of the Recruitment Assistant, including performance management, coaching and other needed support.

Selection process of senior level and critical roles

Head hunting

  • In collaboration with the Recruitment Marketing team, manage relationships with key potential candidates in Devex, LinkedIn or other online databases and pro-actively follow-up for handover to HR teams.
  • Make candidate connections and build relationships with the purpose of feeding into the recruitment process when appropriate.

Emergency Response Recruitment

  • Manage the Emergency Response Pool and email, ensuring interested and approved candidates are included and relevant selection criteria are up to date.
  • Collaborate with G-ERT on communication with the pool, before, during and after emergencies.

Recruitment Database

  • Maintain the Medair recruitment database system and ensure it is kept up to date on candidate selection criteria and availability.
  • Facilitate and promote use of the recruitment database and other data sources for reporting key metrics and monitoring performance indicators to measure the efficiency and success of the recruitment process.
  • Ensure data is managed and utilised according to GDPR requirements.

Relationship and Talent management

  • Manage ongoing relationships with Alumni and candidates who have passed the ROC (maintain contact, match current and future opportunities identification with candidate availabilities).
  • Coordinate with the HR Partners and Talent Development Advisor and Affiliate offices (where appropriate) to include internal employees into the recruitment strategy for the purpose of talent management.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a talent pipeline.
  • Contribute to relationship management in other Medair alumni networks (prayer, funding, Media, events).

Deputise for Team Lead

  • As necessary and due to absences, such as annual leave, ad-hoc events and travels*.*

Inoovation/changes

  • Continually improve on key processes, policies, procedures and information systems, through problem solving and new initiatives, in collaboration with the HR colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Lead and collaborate on assigned HR projects, track progress and deliver outputs on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in HR or a related field.
  • HR certification or Masters in a related field of operation a plus.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the English language (speaking and writing). Good French (oral&written).

Experience

  • 3 years’ experience in HR and recruitment.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Previous experience with the ROC is essential for this role
  • Previous exposure to professional social networks (Linkedin, Xing, Devex).
  • Experience in project management, supporting hiring managers, process-building, planning and execution of events, working under tight deadlines desirable.
  • A high level of digital literacy.
  • Knowledgeable with the Microsoft Office Environment.
  • Working experience with Sage People is a plus.
  • Experience with applicants tracking systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of humanitarian sector or previous position in an INGO is a plus.
  • Ability to work and analyze data.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain good team performance.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven people skills.
  • Driven and result-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong and long-term relationships.
