UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a full-time position within the PSP team in Beirut, Lebanon.

The PSP Senior Back End Developer Associate is responsible for the functionality and efficiency of the web infrastructure of the PSP Digital Hub along with the data integrity and reporting on our donor’s database. This role entails the creation, maintenance and active testing of all PSP MENA digital platforms and landing pages as well as the management, reporting and creation of dashboard and reports on our CRM (salesforce), the role is crucial to link our digital presence, user experience and donors’ acquisition with the data integrity and data management on our CRM.

Organizational context

Individual Giving (IG) is targeted at the general public to secure the support of individuals through regular, unrestricted donations, cash appeals and legacies. The aim is to generate both monthly and one-time donations from individuals using various channels and methods including direct mail, face-to-face fundraising, telemarketing, digital fundraising, DRTV and emergency fundraising, with focus on strong donor loyalty and lifetime value.

The position

Private Sector Partnership Service (PSP) needs to hire an experienced and passionate Senior developer with exceptional skills in integrations, data management and CRM administration to fulfill the requirements of this role.

He/she are expected to have a strong understanding of latest industry trends, Word press development and CRM management.

Duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Associate PSP IG Officer (Digital Campaigns), the Senior PSP Associate – Back-end Developer will be doing:

Development and coding:

  • Designing and implementing custom WordPress theme, new features and functionality
  • Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Ensuring all work adheres to current industry best practice.
  • Architecting and developing broadly compatible products, features, and bug fixes, while monitoring accessibility, performance, and multilingual installations
  • Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
  • Leveraging innovative technologies such as PHP, MySQL, Git, etc… to develop mobile responsive websites and applications.
  • Monitor and report on progress against the work plan, expenditure, budget and targets.
  • Developing and maintain complex WordPress based applications
  • Write high quality code with readability, efficiency, and maintainability in mind while following best practices and proper documentation
  • Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
  • Implementation of any API restful services (Payment gateways, CRM Salesforce, SMS broadcast systems, etc…)
  • Developing WordPress widgets, plugins, custom post types, and page templates
  • Improving internal tools, standards, and integration processes
  • Experience in working with APIs and 3rd party system integration
  • Maintaining & implementing features/services to the existing websites.
  • Providing timely resolution to reported problems with existing websites.
  • Troubleshoots and provides continual maintenance and upgrades of the exiting websites
  • Coding reviews the work of other developers or “of any third party”

Database Management and Analysis

  • Develop custom marketing dashboard concepts for PSP’s reporting.
  • Report on key metrics, analysing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights based on available analytics data
  • Analyse the effect of different online and offline channels on each other and developing and implementing innovative strategies for improvement and growth
  • Analyse online user behavior, conversion data and customer journeys, funnel analysis and multi-channel attribution
  • Perform ROI analysis to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of different marketing campaigns
  • Perform ad-hoc analytics and conversion optimization consultancies for the unit and influencing conversion optimization strategies with solid analytical data
  • Provide consultancy on campaign tagging and additional on-site tracking
  • Spot potential to implement innovative new methodologies and improve analytical procedure
  • Use available data sources to deep dive and troubleshoot campaign (and overall) performance issues and propose methodical optimization tests, both on-site and campaign based.

3. Monitoring and Progress Controls

This position will be responsible to:

  • Maintain and development of our digital presence from creating our landing pages and apps, coordinating with different stakeholders and delivering the requests on a timely manner.
  • Lead on data management, donors’ segmentation and reporting on results to respective stakeholders
  • Developing and delivering reports and dashboards with th best practices in mind using our CRM (Salesforce)

Essential minimum qualifications and professional experience required

Qualifications and Experience

a. Education:

  • Completion of secondary education with post-secondary certificate/training preferably with a university degree in computer science, Information Technology or business administration, University degree is an asset.

b. Work Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience with high school Diploma or 2 years’ experience with graduate degree or equivalent.
  • Proven record in managing IT/web related projects and working with external suppliers.
  • Experience in coordination and supervision of fundraising campaigns in profit or non-profit industry.
  • Experience in fundraising related databases and software

c. Key Competencies

  • Proven experience as a Webmaster or Web Developer
  • Proven experience working with analytical software (e.g., Google Analytics) and website optimization tools for A/B and multivariate testing, e.g., Google Website Optimizer, VWO, etc.
  • High level of experience in data analysis techniques and advanced Excel
  • High level of experience in measuring and analyzing online marketing campaigns including natural and paid search, email, affiliate, display and social.
  • Proficient in HTML/CSS, XML, SQL, JavaScript and Responsive Design
  • Credible and articulate, with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • A real team player
  • Fluency in English and Arabic

Location

The successful candidate will be based with the team in Beirut, Lebanon.
