Handicap International is an independent and impartial international solidarity organization, which intervenes in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflicts and disasters. Working alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, it acts and speaks out to meet their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.

CONTEXT:
HI is re-opening a two-country program covering Ukraine and Moldova. In Ukraine, HI aims at intervening in the West and East of the country from its operational hubs in Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Dnipro and other areas of intervention including Lviv, Uzhhorod and areas in the east closer to the frontline i.e. Kharkiv, adapting modalities of intervention to the various and diverging contexts of implementation. Aligning itself with the priorities of the Ukraine Flash Appeal, HI pillars of interventions are as follows:

OBJECTIVES:
Under the supervision of the Area Manager, you will manage and support the Project Managers for the overall implementation and the quality of programming in your area of assignment. You will ensure the relevance, quality and timeliness of the activities implemented, in line with Ukraine country strategy, HI guidelines and donor requirement. You will contribute to the design of HI’s operational strategy in your area and propose new interventions or adaptation of ongoing activities in line with the strategy and the evolution of the humanitarian situation in the area. You will represent HI towards external stakeholders concerning activities pertaining to your responsibilities (or delegate accordingly) and support the area manager with other tasks as required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
General mission:
Under the responsibility of the Area Manager, you contribute within the areas of intervention covered by the Dnipro hub to the implementation of the mandate and the 10-year strategy of Handicap International. You ensure optimal quality and impact of the projects implemented in their areas of intervention, through a delegation system with appropriate control mechanisms.
You share with all HI managers the responsibility of a sound management and successful functioning of the global organization, through paradigm chain.

DESIRED PROFILE:
- You hold a degree in a field related to the job (humanitarian, Sciences Po, etc.)
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience in Area/Field/project management in challenging humanitarian contexts
- You are fluent in English
- You have a negotiations skills, an excellent communication skills and Security Management experience
CONDITIONS OF THE POSITION:
- 6 months International contract starting from Mid-June 2022
- The international contract provides social cover adapted to your situation:
- Unemployment insurance benefits for EU nationals
- Pension scheme adapted to the situation of our employees: If you already have a personal pension scheme HI will contribute at the same level of your personal monthly contribution with a maximum of 272.53€/month ; If you do not have a personal pension scheme, we will open a private pension account with your contribution of 272.53€/month and a contribution of HI of the same amount
- Medical coverage with 50% of employee contribution
- Repatriation insurance paid by HI
- Salary from 2860€ gross/month upon experience
- Per Diem : 637,87 euros / month
- Hardship allowance : 500 €/month
- Paid leaves: 25 days per year;
- Accommodation : Shared
- R&R status : Level 3 (every 8 weeks)
