JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Project Manager will lead project management for a new Global Priority Programme called Supply Chain Transformation. The objective of this programme is to drive a transformation of CARE’s supply chain processes – enabled by the right technology, data, organization and skills. This work will involve defining a future state Supply Chain operating model design and validate a high level business case of costs and benefits and define the business requirements to select any agreed technology and data provider(s).
This role will be accountable for the planning and execution of the project in line with CARE’s Project Delivery Lifecycle methodology, including the preparation to exit stage gates and securing Steer Co. approvals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning & Implementation
- Develop plans that have defined scope, objectives, governance, deliverables, timelines and resource requirements.
- Manage & prioritize project implementation & delivery according to the established plan(s).
- Identify and share resource and budget challenges to ensure project teams have the necessary skills and capacity to meet project requirements.
- Proactively address potential roadblocks and challenges to minimize impact on project success.
Project Management, Reporting & Governance
- Drive the programme to a regular beat: monitor workstream activity, manage adherence to plan and help team members resolve obstacles to delivery.
- Provide regular status reports on plan, finances, resources, risks and issues in line with guidelines set out by the Transformation team.
- Proactively identify/manage project risks and issues.
- Support the Supply Chain Transformation Director manage the programme governance process, including a Supply Chain Steer Co, with required stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their needs are understood and expectations are managed throughout the Project Delivery Lifecycle.
- Communicate changes to scope or plans to stakeholders and assess their potential impact on the project’s overall objectives.
- Work in close collaboration with the Senior Global Change Manager to ensure Change Management plans are incorporated and aligned to the overall programme plan.
Contribute towards the wider promotion of project management
- Be an active member of Transformation’s Project & Change Management group.
- Help improve project management aspects within CARE’s Project Delivery Lifecycle and share examples of best practice.
- Be part of a group that helps deliver Project Delivery Lifecycle training to new project managers within Transformation and staff outside of Transformation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Proven track record (6-8 years) of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in project management software tools and methodologies.
- Developed organizational awareness and ability to understand any sensitivities within a complex multi-stakeholder structure.
- Solid understanding of risk management and change management.
