Team Digital and what you’ll be working on

You will join a team of kind and professional colleagues with a grit and growth mind-set united with the mission to break power structures in technology, where collaboration is a key value that underpins how we operate.

Team Digital have very ambitious plans for 2024-2025, we will:

  • Drive human rights considerations in the design, development, standardisation, and deployment of Internet infrastructure technologies
  • Intervene in key policy windows in global, regional, and national levels
  • Communicate why and how Internet infrastructure facilitates or impedes human rights online

This is a snapshot of the exciting plans that we’d like you to be part of.

What you will be doing day to day

You will operate in a team to deliver a groundbreaking program, and a point person to drive the organisation’s focus on data-intensive technologies and human rights. You will participate in standards bodies, craft research papers and briefs, and represent ARTICLE 19 at panels and conferences. You will also support the work of the wider organisation – including regional offices, the Law and Policy Programme, and UN Advocacy program – with research and inputs on data-intensive technologies.

What you will bring to the role

  • Strong research and advocacy skills, and diplomatically push for human rights considerations at standards bodies
  • Operate in a fast-paced, global and changing human rights and technology landscape
  • Strong knowledge and communication skills about highly complex and technical issues
