Organisational context

The Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) sits within UNHCR’s Division of External Relations (DER) and is responsible for mobilizing resources from the private sector for refugees. UNHCR have developed a $1 Billion Private Sector Fundraising Strategy 2018-2025. This strategy focuses on both Individual Giving and Private Partnerships and Philanthropy (PPH) and identifies priority fundraising markets and regions.

This role will operate within the Digital Marketing, Data and Analysis Team (DMDA) which is part of the Supporter Engagement Section (SES), which sits in the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP). DMDA team which advises on and delivers centralised digital, data and marketing expertise, shared technical infrastructure and platforms in support of PSP markets, HQ units, and across DER, and wider UNHCR functions to support digital engagement for fundraising and non-fundraising activities. This team sits within the Supporter Engagement Section (SES), which is part of Private Sector Partnerships (PSP).

UNHCR DMDA team (as part of UNHCR Private Sector Partnerships) are looking to recruit a senior programme manager to provide a data driven Programme Delivery expertise to support us in delivering a multi project technical integrations/implementation programmes, and support in the implementation of our Fundraising Data Strategy (tech and architecture).

The position

The assignment will consist of supporting the coordination of the integration work from UNHCR’s side supporting UNHCR to ensure all internal stakeholders are properly identified, project/programme plans are delivered, timelines are in place and delivered, meetings are set up, the programme/projects are coordinated, and key stakeholder communication plans developed to ensure teams/managers/key stakeholders are kept informed. The main projects for integration include Salesforce (a) UNICORN which is a shared Salesforce CRM for multiple market stakeholders of varying levels of maturity and complexity of data and (b) other instances of Salesforce), Selligent Marketing Cloud (automated marketing tool), GCP (Data Lake environment), Drupal/iRaiser (ecommerce and CRM), Azure (Lifetime Value and current Data Warehouse), among others.

Given the scale and strategic importance of these projects, we are looking for an experienced individual able to support UNHCR project manage multiple stakeholders/projects to achieve the integrations on time and on budget, as well as offer technical advice on best integration solutions and provide programme planning, timelines, structure, coordination, and communications plan. This role is to support UNHCR initiate/deliver the design, enhance business case/s and implementation of multiple system technology stack including cloud data architecture.

The role requires experience in shaping and delivering Data and Cloud transformation programs and will be required to support the team with both driving and challenging the business and technical components. A thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods to define and adapt the project’s path, set out success criteria and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

The Sr. Programme Manager will also act as a point of contact for the senior project team, and internal stakeholders, ensuring the needs of the various project teams are kept at the forefront, supporting the process for gathering requirements and ensuing we put in place adequate communication plans to our markets and other internal stakeholders, updating on progress, delays/risks, and advising on best technical and tactical solutions to implement.

In addition, the Sr. Programme Manager is expected to understand the complexities of the integration at hand (integration with Salesforce and Salesforce terminology, SQL language and data modelling/data mapping knowledge are a must) and translate them to advise UNHCR’s senior management on best way to implement out our approved tech stack structure.

The individual will be responsible for planning and defining a new programme including all work streams and roles building on the strong foundation of what has been put in place already with our internal project teams and external suppliers, establishing a delivery framework and then working closely with the individual project teams to implement and deliver to the agreed roadmap, driving new features through full development lifecycle.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Creates and Maintains Project Plans: Develops, and continually updates, detailed project/program management plans. Develops work breakdown structures based on the project objectives and scope. Ensures PMO practices and methodology is adhered to.
  • Effective, timely and clear communication of program expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Support UNHCR senior stakeholders and project managers in minimizing roadblocks and ensuring continued commitment.
  • Set and continually manage program expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables
  • Acts as a focal point/source of truth for comprehensive migration information and provides standing updates to markets, project managers and other internal stakeholders.
  • Gathers a centralized view of projects and timelines and creates and distributes project plans that encompass all teams (Salesforce, Ecommerce, Automated Marketing Platform, GCP/data warehousing and any others)
  • Provides oversight to project managers and teams and evaluates project plans to ensure they include all dependencies.
  • Support UNHCR with estimating any additional resources and participants needed to achieve program goals.
  • Lead PMO to support UNHCR with analyzing, planning and developing requirements and standards in reference to scheduled projects
  • Hold regular meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives
  • Provides budget information to Project Managers. Assists in developing costs estimates and analyzing data.
  • Other Support Duties as Needed: Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned
  • Essential minimum qualifications and professional experience required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Education

  • University degree (BA) -preferably in Digital Marketing, Data Analysis or related discipline

Work Experience

  • Minimum 9 years relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or 8 years relevant experience with Graduate degree.
  • Proven PMO, and programme delivery management experience in data and legacy to cloud transformations and creating data roadmaps highly desirable.
  • Exposure to cloud ecosystems (such as AWS or GCP) Salesforce, and any experience of delivering modern data platforms (Google’s Big Query) highly desirable.
  • Record of enabling the delivery of data analytics, data science, or predictive analytics use cases desirable.
  • Extensive awareness and application of PM tools
  • 8+ Years proven experience as a Project/Programme Manager leading and managing multi-disciplinary projects & programmes of varying sizes and complexity in business technology transformation projects across an international setting.
  • Experience of UN and/or NFP is an advantage
  • Solid stakeholder management experience, working with international stakeholders, 3rd party vendors/agencies.
  • Experienced in chairing meetings, objective setting and taking ownership and responsibility for decisions.
  • Experience in large scale data management programmes, strapping multi-versed technology teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of English;

Location

The successful candidate will be based in Denmark or be homebased.

Conditions

This position is a full-time role starting from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).
