As the DAPP Senior Programme Manager, you will be a part of the International derpartment with colleagues placed both in- and outside of Denmark. The International department is divided into four teams and this position is placed in the International Programme & Partnership (IPP) team. AADK is part of the ActionAid Federation, which makes it possible for us to be present in more than 45 countries worldwide. Our partners are national ActionAid civil society organisations with whom we collaborate for just, feminist, green and resilient societies

The DAPP Programme

Since 2006 ActionAid Denmark (AADK) has worked through the Danish Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP); for many years as a strategic partner and since 2018 as a recipient of funds from the DAPP Youth Pool with a project aiming at strengthen youths democratic and civic participation. The project is implemented by ActionAid Arab Region (AAAR) and local partners.

AADK are embarking on a new five-year DAPP funding period with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Together with Planbørnefonden (lead), GAME and the Danish Chamber of Commerce, AADK in a consortium has won the new DAPP 2022-2027 programme on Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship (YEE) aiming at improving young people’s, live by developing skills and securing decent and sustainable jobs, especially in the green and digital sectors in Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco. The programme that contributes to DAPP’s vision of creating better lives for and with young people in the region, will pay particular attention to ensuring that young women are included as a specific target group in the interventions.

Responsibilities

The DAPP Senior Programme Manager’s role is to ensure quality programme management, planning, coordination, technical input as well as administration of the DAPP programme and possibly other programmes within AADK remit. The tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate the continued development and support the implementation of the YEE DAPP programme in Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia in close collaboration with consortium-partners and across AADK teams/clusters, when relevant
  • Grants administration, incl. ensuring compliance and quality input to Ministry of Foreign Affairs reporting.
  • Stay informed and updated on country context (political, economic, social) of the DAPP countries.
  • Coordination of financial monitoring and timely disbursements of funds to partners.
  • Monitor the implementation of programmes in countries.
  • Coordination of country reviews, which include a strong learning and accountability focus.
  • Some media work (i.e. input for radio, SoME or news articles) can be expected.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience with management and development of larger programmes, including facilitating the participation of multiple stakeholders, both international, national and locals.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the global south, preferrable in the MENA region.
  • Experience of working with diverse groups of youth, hereunder supporting youth-led programming focusing on youth-empowerment through youth leadership, trainings, capacity development, skills-building, safe-spaces and/or mentorship programmes.
  • Fluency in English as well as very good proficiency in either French or Moroccan Arabic is a requirement.
  • Demonstrated strong coordination, networking, communication and facilitation skills with the ability of working both as a team-player, as well as independently.
  • Experience from working in an international consortium and/or working at the HQ level in an international NGO
  • Experience with reporting to institutional donors, such as Danida, EU etc.
  • Sound knowledge of budget management.
  • Good proficiency in Danish is desired
  • Knowledge of working with youth and how to link youth, especially young women, to the job-market especially jobs in the green or digital sector is desired
  • Understanding of service contract obligations, digital infrastructures and platforms, including digital trainings desired
  • Understanding of feminist approaches to programming, as well as gender equity initiatives hereunder mainstreaming and stand-alone programmes desired.

We offer

Minimum 4 years appointment with 37-38 working hours/week (depending on the local standards) and approximately 8-10 weeks of travel per year;

A comprehensive compensation package where salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the agreement between AADK and the AC organizations (union agreement) or with the ActionAid Federation;

An obligatory pension scheme is a part of the package, as well as salary supplements for fixed-terms;
