About the role

As the Senior Programme Finance resource in the team, you will provide support and mentoring to Programme Finance Specialist; lead the development of process improvements and new tools with the team lead , and develop guidance and training to support roll out; manage a portfolio of more complex, higher risk or large scale projects (including Commercial Contracts, FCDO fund-managed grants, contracts with specific payment mechanisms such as PBR and milestone payments, funding from new donors), and act as a primary interface with Finance on cross- departmental matters (processes for budgeting, reporting, statutory and donor audits).

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

Key requirements include providing support, guidance & advice on:

  • Pre-qualification information for proposals and bids
  • Donor rules & compliance
  • Key donor requirements including Value for Money, International Aid Transparency Initiative and a range of contractual and billing mechanisms

About you

The team is looking for a talented individual to support our portfolio projects through excellent contract and finance management. You will have knowledge of donor compliance and financial donor reporting and will provide integrated contract, financial and compliance expertise throughout the project cycle: from funding proposals, project set up to reporting and close out.

We are looking for someone with excellent grant management skills and commercial contracts experience with a high attention to detail, able to multitask and work under pressure, and a professionalism to deliver quality work in a timely and accurate manner. An ability to quickly form effective relationships with our country offices and internal teams within CARE will allow you to shine in this role
