Here’s where you come in:

As the Senior Programme Development Advisor for the Global Rapid Response Team (GRRT), your primary responsibility will be to deploy, sometimes on short notice, to humanitarian emergencies to lead or support World Vision’s resource acquisition and management team. Your focus will be on: 1) Response Strategy Development; 2) Donor engagement; 3) Project Design & Proposal Development; 4) Opportunity tracking; 5) Resource management & Reporting. In a response, you will often need to lead a team of Program Officers on Grant Acquisition and Management (GAM) but you can also be deployed individually to support the GAM function.

During period of non-deployment, you will lead and/or support strategic disaster management initiatives alongside the Program Team and Program Director. These will include but not limited to:

  • Promote & facilitate continuous learning on emergency programming across the organisation
  • Build capacity on Program in Emergency
  • Support development and improvement of program related initiatives, strategies, tools and process in humanitarian responses
  • Assisting strategic initiatives that link World Vision’s global strategy with field practice
  • Deployment Roster Management

Requirements include:

  • University degree in Humanitarian Studies, International Development, Political Relations, Economics, Sociology, or other related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years in roles that feature resource acquisition, grant development, donor engagement and leadership in the humanitarian assistance with a significant portion of this in INGOs
  • 7 years’ experience in humanitarian assistance work including significant field presence
  • Strong experience in engaging with governmental institutions, UN clusters, and multilateral agencies
  • Strong experience in working with bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors, grant management and proposal development
  • Experience in managing resource acquisition and management teams that facilitate innovation and calculated risk taking.
  • Experience in program management and compliance of multi-sectoral emergency response projects
