**Job Overview:**The IRC is one of the leading providers of high-quality programming for refugees and survivors of trafficking in the United States. The IRC is committed to developing innovative programs that respond to our clients’ unique challenges and needs, using our learning and experience to shape policy and practice, and highlighting and promoting best practices in service provision. The Research, Analysis and Learning (RAL) supports IRC programs in the U.S. and Europe in becoming more evidence-based and data-driven, as well as providing peer to peer learning activities, and new staff orientation.

The IRC seeks a Senior Program Officer, eLearning. This position will join a team of instructional designers and be responsible for designing and producing internal staff-facing eLearning modules in concert with subject matter experts across the Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) network, from concept to final product. The position will also manage the learning management system interface, and design related internal learning evaluations. The Program Officer, eLearning reports to the Director of Training & Instructional Design, and can be based anywhere in the U.S.

Major Responsibilities:

Oversee development of eLearning initiatives. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Working closely with subject matter experts across the RAI network to conduct learning needs assessments, establish learning objectives, and design and develop content
  • Developing eLearning modules and other multimedia learning tools
  • Solicit feedback and edit as needed throughout process based on stakeholder input
  • Develop and act on a training plan that maximizes resources and reaches all relevant staff; track related training activities and generate related reports as needed
  • Ensure that eLearning training efforts are evaluated and systematically stored, organized, and updated. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Analyze and report on staff surveys and training evaluations, ensuring that actionable feedback is incorporated into eLearning products
    • Ensure that all related training resources are stored, organized, and accessible through the learning management system

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline required (preferably in Instructional Design or Education); advanced university degree advantageous. Instructional Design certification preferred.

Work Experience: At least four years developing and implementing training/education programs via multimedia platforms. Strong experience in instructional design. Experience with eLearning software and learning management system platforms. A portfolio of eLearning and multimedia work related to workforce education will be requested for reveiw. Previous work/experience with refugees or displaced populations preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Project management skills
  • Experience developing innovative virtual/multimedia training products
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with eLearning and learning management system software packages and multimedia/editing tools
  • Mastery of eLearning and multimedia platforms (such as Captivate, Articulate, Premiere, Camtasia, Final Cut, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail; excellent editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities with the ability to rapidly assess situational needs, develop problem solving strategies, and implement swift and sustainable solutions
  • Graphic design experience advantageous
  • Experience with incorporating Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles into learning
  • Experience working closely with subject matter experts preferred
  • Familiarity with refugees/displaced populations strongly preferred

Working Environment:** The work environment is full time remote. New York candidates may work from the IRC office. All necessary equipment will be provided, but applicants must have a home or alternate workspace where they can effectively complete their work during regularly scheduled work hours. Some domestic travel may be required.

Language Skills: English language fluency

Certificates or Licenses: Instructional Design certification advantageous

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
