The Global Operations Africa Program Management Team (PMT) leverages the power of the PSI network to establish operational and technical excellence in and beyond market to achieve positive and scaled consumer powered primary health care outcomes.

PSI seeks a Senior Manager, Program that will direct PSI’s operational, technical, and programmatic excellence goals and execution of quality standards by supervising multiple direct reports and/or team(s) of headquarters and/or field staff who are responsible for providing wide-ranging operational, technical, and/or project management support to a global project or portfolio of network members/country projects. Work with network members/country or global project teams, headquarters technical and service departments, and subcontractors to ensure program/project objectives are met to high standards of quality and timeliness and are in compliance with donor requirements. Ensure the programmatic and financial health and technical quality of a portfolio of donors, programs, and/or countries of high complexity. Demonstrate advanced knowledge or specialized subject matter expertise in at least one technical and/or functional area (e.g., a health area or specific program management skillset). Actively contribute to wider departmental and/or organizational initiatives and working groups, and strategic-level design and impact at project, departmental, and organizational levels. Provide significant support to project or departmental leadership with donor relations or lead donor relations directly. Within a global project or technical team lead or provide significant contributions to the development of technical documents and presentations for internal and external audiences. The level of effort across essential functions will vary depending upon the program management team joined and the portfolio.

Salary Range:
$111,000 (MINIMUM) – $139,000 (MID-POINT) – $167,000 (MAXIMUM)

For US-based candidates, the annual base salary range is reflected above. * We value transparency and have provided the full salary range for this role. Actual base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, experience, internal equity, external market analysis, and other business factors permitted by law. Hiring above the mid-point of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential future salary growth. Your contributions

-Monitor and ensure smooth operational and programmatic implementation and technical quality of a portfolio of projects or network members/countries, including monitoring of agreement modifications, workplans and deliverables, subaward management, and continuous quality improvement in coordination with immediate team members, network member or global project team members, and global technical and service departments. 25% of Time
-Provide specialized expertise in at least one technical or functional area, contribute to training and technical support and departmental/organizational initiatives and working groups, oversee related internal and external knowledge management. 20% of Time
-Provide financial management support to department and network member/country project teams, including preparation and tracking of project, country, and team budgets, project spend, and review of financial reports. 15% of Time
-Assist or lead on new business development opportunities, including development and review of strategy, technical and cost proposals. 15% of Time
-Lead recruitment, training, and ongoing performance management of staff. 15% of Time
-Support representation of or directly represent project/department leadership with partners, donors, or other internal and external stakeholders. 10% of Time

What are we looking for?

-Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field
-Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field preferred
-At least 10 years of relevant experience. Degree can be substituted by years of experience.
-At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
-Deep, applied knowledge of international development, international donor priorities and/or health areas (such as DFID, USAID, CDC, KFW, corporate and foundation donors).
-Excellent written, verbal, and cross-cultural communications skills. Relevant language skills per country and program portfolio.
-Excellent, proven skills in Excel, budget management and monitoring, and strong financial acumen.
-Excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
-Staff mentorship, growth, and development skills.
-Skilled leader, including strong influencing skills and the ability to set strategic direction.
-Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
