Overview of position:

  • Our clients Mukalla field office covers Shabwa, Hadramout Wadi, Al Mahra & Socotra governorates from Mukalla. They are implementing projects in every district of the 4 governorates related to food security.

Role objectives:

  • Broadly, the 8 new consultants (2 in each area except for Hadramout Sahel which is where the office is based) will support the Mukalla team & our client in Yemen in general to monitor activities, suggest improvements as needed and implement under Mukalla leadership.
  • The main role of these colleagues would be monitoring, be their eyes / ears on the ground, advising & reporting on irregularities.
  • The SC7 in Socotra will have also a representational role as they do not have access to Socotra as of now as well as a Program Policy Associate Officer role recommendations, suggestions would be expected from her / him.
  • Monitoring also a key part of her / his role together with the G4.
  • Assist when necessary in coordination with key stakeholders to ensure smoothly our clients activities.

Project reporting:

  • Daily communications with Mukalla, ad hoc communications & inputs for sitrep (deadline on Thursday mid day)-
  • Meeting with authorities, CP, related reports & key action points / agreements or highlights of such meeting.

Key competencies:

  • High School certification is a must, BA Degree is desirable for G7.
  • Must be fluent in English & Arabic & any local languages spoken in each disctrict.
  • 2 years of experience G5 & G4.
  • 4 – 5 years for G7.
  • Knowledge of food security & drivers of food insecurity in their area.
  • Knowledge of their area of work.
  • Has a good relationship with local authorities, NGOs & community leaders such as tribal leaders.
  • Good communication capacities, teamwork, independent thinking & motivation.

Team management:

  • The highest position of each field team will supervise the other colleague with the support og the M&E G6 & the HoP from Mukalla.
