The Senior Program Associate contributes to the design and implementation of current and developing programs in the Europe region.
Position Requirements:
· Undergraduate degree in political science, international relations, or related field.
· Two to three years of experience in international development or related field.
· Experience with program management, implementation, and basic accounting necessary to draft and oversee a budget.
· Excellent writing, research, and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate and lead the efforts of other professionals to effectively meet program goals.
· International experience preferred.
· Experience and/or interest in Western Balkans preferred.
· Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
· Supports the Program Team to implement grant(s) and ensure grant compliance, including logistical support for program activities and events.
· Monitors program activities to ensure alignment with the approved grant work plan.
· Prepares, tracks, and conducts follow-up on pending procurement requests, approvals and monitoring once approved.
· Participates in budget analysis on a regular basis. Tracks spending and regularly updates budget tracker.
· Coordinates all monitoring and evaluation efforts for grants assigned.
· Drafts quarterly, semi-annual, final, and other relevant reports for funders.
· Maintains an understanding of funder and IRI policies and procedures related to grant compliance and oversight.
· Contributes to the proposal and budget development process for new funding opportunities, including the development of new program ideas.
· Supports IRI’s communication strategy including IRI’s branding and outreach plans on projects assigned, including drafts and updates program summaries and other outreach materials, drafts blogs, tweets, etc.
· Travels as needed for program support and implementation.
· Participates in cross functional teams and initiatives.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
