This role will report into the global product team that enables and supports Amazon’s Product Assurance, Risk and Security (PARS) team.

This team owns technology products that span all of Amazon’s consumer and retail business such as Amazon.com, Amazon Private Brands, Amazon Go, Whole Foods, Amazon Devices, Amazon’s third party fulfillment business, etc. You will have the opportunity to interact and work with emerging businesses at Amazon from inception through rapid growth. We’re looking for a strong Senior Product Manager-Tech, who has a flair for producitizing cutting-edge ML solutions. You will develop a product that will help Amazon to ensure safety and compliance of Billions of products across its catalog (online/physical stores). Decisions made by this product will de-risk Amazon’s selection against any regulatory risk, influence safety of our customers/associates, and reduce the unnecessary friction with Selling Partners. In nutshell, its an opportunity to positively impact every component of Amazon’s flywheel.

This suite of products will be supported by established tech teams, and has a growing list of global stakeholders. You should have strong problem-solving skills, product management skills, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of how developers build, manage, and deploy their infrastructure and applications. You should also possess the ability to influence people across the organization from tech leadership to business managers. To do this, you must be able to manage complex initiatives across numerous business models, create certainty out of ambiguous requirements, while having a firm grasp over the operational, strategic, and technical aspects of the product.

You will work closely with various PARS teams globally. You will also work with various product tech teams, ML teams and applied/data scientists within our org, as well as across Amazon (product and engineering) supporting the broader businesses. This includes retail tech, fulfillment operations, legal and their respective executive teams. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, data-driven, resourceful, customer-focused, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines.

You Must Be Able To

  • First and foremost – deal with ambiguity and project a clear long term vision for the product.
  • Work with internal customers to understand their use cases and their existing solutions. Drive requirements definition, CX design, compliance, feature development priority, and product messaging.
  • Collaborate with your engineering and business teams to drive the product roadmaps for PARS.
  • Define product strategy and vision, and own the product roadmap and related literature.
  • Address bottlenecks, identify inefficiencies, anticipate and make tradeoffs; balance the business and customers’ needs versus technical constraints.
  • Own business metrics for customer engagement, and operational reliability. Design mechanisms to ensure long-term product or business success.
  • Own Business Requirement Documents, User Stories, Use Cases, and Product Strategy documents.
  • Evaluate technical solutions with alternatives and decompose significantly complex problems into concise and effective technical propositions.
  • Partner with multiple tech and product teams across multiple locations with varying sets of priorities to ensure a timely delivery of the solution.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Engineering (or Technology).
  • 5+ yrs. engineering, PM, or relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Masters in STEM related field.
  • Knowledge of software development, coding, and software architecture preferred.
  • Experience in retail, ecommerce, operations, or logistics preferred.
  • Experience working with in-house technology teams and product teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, support scope of requirements and prioritize features.
  • Knowledge of basic , query, data analysis, and cost-benefit analysis.
