Business Intelligence is responsible for Munich Re’s global marine reinsurance underwriting excellence as well as reinsurance product development and knowledge management.

The team particularly focuses on marine underwriting but also supports Global Reinsurance Specialty (Aviation, Contingency, Agro) teams within Munich Re and can guide the community with its expert knowledge and services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to complement our team of recognised experts.

Your job

• Structuring and implementing tailored marine reinsurance solutions
• Providing an excellent level of service to internal and external clients
• Supporting underwriters in structuring and pricing
• Acting as Business Intelligence lead for data analytics and business development projects, incl. networking within the data analytics community
• Identifying and testing out new methods for pricing and underwriting processes
• Conducting performance and portfolio analysis

Your profile

• Actuarial degree or university degree in mathematics, statistics, economics or related field
• Track record of completed actuarial projects
• (Profound) experience as pricing actuary (marine, casualty or property)
• Knowledge in structuring and pricing of non-standard reinsurance solutions is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience in data analytics
• Solution-oriented and creative work approach
• Successful team worker but also able to work independently
• Confident, engaging manner and good negotiation skills
• Experience in cross-functional/cross-departmental project work is considered an advantage
• Strong written & verbal communication in English
