Senior Practitioner – Children’s Placements Team

We are looking to recruit a Senior Practitioner in the Children’s Placements Team within Thurrock Council. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels.

Thurrock pay close attention to looking after their Social Workers and strive to ensure they feel supported and welcomed in their roles. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable working environment with experienced leadership, whilst receiving regular supervision and training opportunities.

The Responsibilities Of The Senior Practitioner Includes

• Searching for suitable placements for looked after children
• No statutory caseload
• Day to day work may involve working with children and their allocated workers to develop profiles and referrals, searching for placements within our own resource and externally
• There may be some opportunity to support care leavers in finding a suitable accommodation.

To Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Social Work England registration
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DPSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)
• Previous Placement Team experience
