Job Overview:

The Strategic Events team develops and carries out high impact, thought leadership, stewardship, cultivation and fundraising events that introduce new audiences to IRC’s mission and engages current supporters with our progressive work.

This role will be under the direction of the Senior Director of Experiential Marketing and will work with colleagues across International Partnerships and Philanthropy (IPP), USA Philanthropy and larger marketing teams to consult, conceptualize and implement engagement activities in support of achieving ambitious fundraising goals, profile-raising events and though-leadership opportunities. These events and activities will include those within the U.S. and abroad.

This role will work alongside the Events and larger Experiential marketing team to craft and implement short and long-term strategies for all events, high profile engagements, and experiential marketing campaigns across the organization laddering up to the following goals:

  • Raising private fundraising dollars
  • Developing corporate partnership opportunities
  • Elevating the profile of the IRC
  • Enhancing global brand awareness of the IRC

The Senior Officer will collaborate with internal and external partners in international and domestic markets. This individual will partner to provide expert event management, logistics and production coordination, as well as support on the development of compelling IRC content.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team and key internal partners to develop a suite of global events (live and virtual) ranging from high level intimate gatherings to large dinners, thought leadership conferences, meetings, etc.
  • Work with digital marketing teams and the IRC’s creative studio to coordinate large scale marketing events.
  • Be a partner in creation of new designs and implementations of IRC events and associated critical metrics.
  • Be a partner in developing event themes, structures, and program elements.
  • Own and supervise all aspects of event project management, coordination, logistics, production and execution from pre-planning through wrap up phases including but not limited to:
    • Concept notes
    • Venue search/Virtual Platform set up
    • Food and Beverage needs
    • Audience List Management including assisting with RSVP tracking and reporting
    • Audio and visual needs
    • Event data management and reporting
  • Prepare event budgets, negotiate with vendors, and coordinate timely payments and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and disseminate event materials, donor communications, and other professional documents.
  • Evaluate event program effectiveness and provide analysis of audience data.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree minimum, or equivalent experience.

Work Experience: 6 years of event planning experience with the shown ability to organize events through all phases of development.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Outstanding Microsoft Office and event database management skills (Salesforce and/or Cvent experience preferred);
  • Proven project and event management skills (in-person and virtual) with the ability to balance multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Meticulous and showing persistence, patience, and resourcefulness around each task and project.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and diplomatically with donors, clients, colleagues, vendors, and consultants.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resilient and able to remain calm in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve quickly and effectively.
  • A great teammate able to work effectively with multicultural, global teams.

*Working Environment:***This role requires working remotely full or part time (i.e., telecommuting). Travel may be required.

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
