Job summary

This exciting role is mission critical for the Consortium for Street Children. The postholder will have the opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of many children living in street situations, with a high level of influence and empowerment in the organisation.

· Reporting: to the Director of Programmes and Advocacy

· Working hours: Full time (also open to a 4 day week)

· Salary: £30,000-£36,000 **

· Annual leave: 25 days + Bank Holidays pro-rata**

· Pension: Employer contribution of 5% of gross salary**

Specific responsibilities

  • Project manage our Red Nose Day grant, including: running a grants programme for between 4-10 partners; maintaining a complete understanding of project deliverables and liaising with partners and colleagues in Advocacy, Communications, Research etc. to make sure these are met; supporting the delivery of project activities as required; managing shared learning and facilitating a Community of Practice for partners.
  • Provide Grant Management support to other projects, including: collaborating with our Head of Finance and Operations to ensure regular budget management meetings; working with the Director of Advocacy and Programmes to set up and maintain processes to track and deliver of work plans, budgets and reporting to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Champion the needs of our donors and ensure that we are fulfilling our obligations as recipients of funding, in accordance with project proposals, contracted activities, as well as donor rules and regulations regarding co-funding, procurement, travel, compliance etc.
  • Provide ongoing stewardship to our donors, helping them feel engaged and inspired by our work.
  • Provide timely formal reporting in line with donor requirements.
  • Manage a Network Intern, and work together with them to ensure basic support to our Network Members, including production of a regular newsletter and onboarding of new members (temporary).
  • Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, including support to fundraising on occasion.
  • Abide by all CSC Policies, Regulations and Procedures, including our Child Protection Policy and code of conduct.

Person specification

  • Strong project and grant management skills, spanning the project cycle from set up to close down, including:
  • Donor requirements and proposal writing
  • Due diligence, contracting, contract management,
  • Establishment of common goals/aims
  • Development of strategic and programme plans, and management tools
  • Programme design and project budgeting
  • Implementation (including financial management for grants £50,000+)
  • Reporting, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experienced at partnership management including management of diverse multi-partner projects; and supporting partners to develop skills, address capacity gaps, and share learning
  • Excellent relationship management skills with donors or similar external-facing relationships
  • Experienced at planning and coordinating a cross-organisational team
  • An understanding of charity finances and legislation
  • An understanding and curiosity about the key issues for street connected children and the organisations that support them
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, Child Rights
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent written English skills
  • French and/or Spanish language skills would be an advantage
