Job summary

This exciting role is mission critical for the Consortium for Street Children. The postholder will have the opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of many children living in street situations, with a high level of influence and empowerment in the organisation.

· Reporting: to the Director of Programmes and Advocacy

· Working hours: Full time (also open to a 4 day week)

· Salary: £30,000-36,000 depending on experience**

· Annual leave: 25 days + Bank Holidays pro-rata**

· Pension: Employer contribution of 5% of gross salary**

· Location: 15 Old Ford Road, Room 11, St Margaret’s House, London, E2 9PJ, UK

· Duration: 5 months

Specific responsibilities

  • Project manage the finalisation of the Legal Atlas for Street Children
  • Reviewing and editing legal research from countries around the world to populate the Legal Atlas for Street Children
  • Develop a long-term strategy for the Legal Atlas for Street Children
  • Keep existing information on the Legal Atlas for Street Children up to date
  • Develop a user uptake strategy of the Legal Atlas for Street Children
  • Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job
  • Abide by all CSC Policies, Regulations and Procedures, including our Child Protection Policy and code of conduct

Person specification

  • An understanding and curiosity about the key issues for street connected children and the organisations that support them
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, Child Rights, which must include an understanding of human rights law, international UN systems and government processes
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Capability in project management, including: donor requirements and proposal writing, establishment of common goals/aims; development of strategic and programme plans; programme design and project budgeting; implementation (including financial management); monitoring and evaluation
  • Excellent written English skills
