PSI seeks an experienced Senior M&E / HMIS Officer to lead PSI’s M&E/HMIS related to the Damal Caafimaad Component 1: Delivery of Somalia’s Essential Package of Health Services in Nugaal, Puntland.

Responsibilities

Your contributions

  • Manage PSI’s M&E/HMIS related to the Damal Caafimaad Component 1: Delivery of Somalia’s Essential Package of Health Services in Nugaal, Puntland
  • Working with the Regional Health Office (RHO), oversee HMIS system use within the region
  • Develop RHO HMIS capacity
  • Oversee facility-level use of HMIS tools
  • Analyze regional-level health data for decision making
  • Develop RHO capacity for data analysis and data use for decision making
  • Support implementation of HMIS data quality improvement procedures (quality checks, facility visits, etc.)
  • Improve facility-level capacity to develop simple, hand-drawn data analytics (ex: charts placed on the wall) and to use data
  • Contribute to PSI’s reports

What are we looking for?

  • An advance degree in public health, statistics, or related field is required
  • A minimum of seven years HMIS management experience
  • Excellent quantitative skills
  • Experience training others in HMIS is required
  • Substantial health sector experience is required
  • Experience developing HMIS quality assurance systems
  • Experience analyzing health data
  • Experience supporting use of data for decision making
  • Experience in HMIS capacity development, with a focus on coaching and mentorship, is required
  • Qualified Somali national/ Somali Diaspora or individual already authorized to work in Somalia required
