SIR is a 501(c)(6) professional association that supports more than 8,100 interventional radiology physicians, trainees, medical students, scientists, and clinical professionals. SIR is also comprised of SIR’s 501(c)(3) Foundation, which focuses on research and fundraising to advance the future of interventional radiology. Together SIR and SIR Foundation have nearly 50 staff, combined annual revenues of $10 million, and assets of nearly $17 million.

Position Summary:

This highly visible and dynamic role works across the organization to develop and implement a diverse array of short- and long-term strategies for SIR and SIR Foundation websites. The senior manager is responsible for optimizing website presence to meet strategic plan goals supporting physician education and training, meetings, product and service sales, membership, advocacy, and donor engagement.

The senior manager consistently and collaboratively works with staff and volunteers to advise on and fulfill web strategies and tactics. They will begin and train as part of SIR’s Communications team but are expected to become part of SIR’s growing business technology team, working with IT, marketing, education, finance and database staff on developing and aligning business technologies to increase e-commerce, profitability and engagement.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Leads staff stakeholders and project teams to develop, produce, and optimize website strategies that support the society’s and foundation’s awareness, education, membership, policy, research and revenue goals.
  • Identifies, prepares, disseminates and interprets metrics and results of macro web-initiatives; assists staff stakeholders in evaluating their individual web initiatives and efforts.
  • Develops and oversees web governance policies for ensuring consistent, useful and relevant content creation, maintenance and expiration of content.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of websites against desired macro-outcomes; stays apprised of web best practices and proactively pursues digital training and education.
  • Serves as a vital contributor and team participant on SIR’s business technology team, working with IT, marketing, education, finance and database staff on developing and aligning business technologies that increase e-commerce, profitability and engagement.

Secondary Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manages web support vendor relationships.
  • Develops, manages and researches budget for short- and long-term web development and maintenance.
  • Works with stakeholders to develop SOWs and budgets for strategic web needs.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of operating content management systems (EPIServer/Optimizely knowledge preferred, Drupal a plus)
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to apply SEO and keyword search tools to improve site rankings
  • Expert in digital analytics and metrics reporting and interpreting web performance metrics to optimize website function (Google Analytics, Google AdWords, SEO best practices, tracking tools and ranking factors)
  • Proven project management skills, resourcefulness and proficiency managing multiple, cross-functional projects and communicating expectations effectively to internal stakeholders and teams
  • Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills, as well as organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Google Analytics or similar certification desired

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of website management experience, to include managing or facilitating website development to meet strategic initiatives
  • 2-3 years managing a direct report

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Small, fast-paced open office environment with moderate noise levels. Use of phones and computers for extended periods of time. Utilize office equipment and communication technologies for conference calls and teleconference meetings/webinars. Requires general mobility to move through the facility. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Frequent interaction with internal staff and physician members/board via phone, in person, email and other mediums. Normal sitting and standing activities for an office environment. Some travel primarily for Annual Meeting.
