THE ROLE The Senior Manager, KMTS Operational Performance will report into the KMTS Head of Planning & Governance and will be responsible for developing, presenting and managing the IT budget; providing transparency to IT costs; managing cost allocation chargeback principles; and measuring the benefits of IT investments. This will be done while defining and embracing operation excellence principles and tools to create sustainable improvement within KMTS. Key functions and deliverables: • Supports the CTKO and the KMTS Leadership Team in budgeting, forecasting, and other financial areas; • Develops and controls the annual KMTS budget to ensure that it’s consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise and is within plan while supporting a culture of continuous cost optimisation; • Develops and maintains key metrics, identifies areas for improvement and implements new processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency within KMTS.

MAIN DUTIES

• Provide variance analysis comparing actual technology spend versus plan, forecast, and prior year; • Perform and coordinate project-based financial analysis and modeling to support reporting of the operation and investment spend. Including assisting in business case preparation and submission for technology investments; • Review KMTS results with KMTS Leadership team on a regular basis to highlight performance and coordinate on forecasts; • Support the Annual Planning and Quarterly Forecasting process for KMTS; • Create insightful and actionable analyses to explain and act upon KMTS financial and operational performance while creating recurring or ad-hoc reports and models for the purpose of allowing KMTS leadership to make data driven decisions; • Analyse data to identify operational trends and opportunities for improvement; • Coordinate and drive improvement initiatives across KMTS teams to ensure successful implementation of best practice and operational improvements; • Prepare reports on financial and operational performance, including benchmarks against industry standards or best practices.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, mathematics, business, finance, economics, computer science or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 8+ years of professional experience managing IT budgets and processes with experience establishing standards for IT teams to follow; • Developing new processes to streamline IT performance and operations; • Solid experience working in cross-functional teams or projects; • Success in influencing and negotiating across teams and co-developing IT relevant process with Finance teams; • Deep understanding of IT budget, cost, and forecasting concepts and practices; • Demonstrated ability to articulate, persuade and communicate the value of operations excellence.

SKILLS

• Experience of working in complex and demanding environments; • Understanding of IT budgeting concepts and practices; • Excellent communication skills with excellent IT and financial acumen; • Pragmatism to find solutions rather than add complexity; • Proactiveness to behave as self-starter and self-manager who spots issues that need to be addressed, and then take action; • Insightfulness to think clearly to uncover the root causes of barriers to execution; • Persuasiveness with the ability to influence change even without having direct authority over it; • Collaborative to know how to break down team barriers and work with all involved to find solutions.

LANGUAGES

• Fluent English is required; • French is an asset.
