Job Description
Responsible for leading the Quality Assurance (QA) team of the Enterprise Risk Testing program; developing strategy and program design to support the expansion of testing remit. Manage QA reviews to effectively challenging regulatory coverage, testing approach and documentation to ensure compliance testing and validation proge consumer testing are appropriately covering areas of regulatory risk. Champion opportunities for program and procedural enhancements and collaborate with Risk Testing leadership and functional teams to assess and prioritize. Deliver on quality assurance metrics and results utilized for reporting to Risk Testing Leadership and Committees, as appropriate.
How You���������ll Do It
- Manage a team that executes QA reviews by inspecting first line consumer testing, second line review and validation documentation to confirm information and execution align to Procedural and Program requirements; effectively challenge regulatory coverage and testing execution and related documentation as appropriate
- Develop QA process to confirm compliance testing, validation processes and first line consumer testing are executed in accordance with Corporate Risk Management Policy and Standard requirements
- Champion opportunities to continue improving the quality review procand methodology; execute quality reviews in accordance with existing quality review framework
- Maintain on-going communication with various members of Risk Testing Management on the status and results of the Quality Reviews performed
- Consult and inform Risk Testing Leadership on changes to Quality Assurance Methodology; prepare and present quality review updates to broader Risk Testing Team on regular basis
- Review QA results of control and transactional testing to confirm executed accurately and agree with documented conclusions. Deliver results on effective challenge of existing Risk Testing processes and/or identify where there may be gaps/risk or enhancement opportunities
- Maintain and enhance development and monitoring of quality review and other Risk Testing metrics and prepare Committee reporting as appropriate
- Create and maintain high standard work product and supporting documentation including communicating results and/or concerns verbally and in writing.
- Execute assigned tasks within the defined timeframe; proactively communicate potential delays if deadlines at risk; oversight of team performance
- Evaluate, monitor and/or test the adequacy of Risk Testing processes and practices with respect to risks, controls, and regulatory requirements, and identification of gaps and issues.
- Assess the adequacy of business policies, procedures, training and reference materials, system and manual processes, and provides support for research of regulatory requirements.
- Assist Director in discrete portions of larger projects.
- Delegated authority to act on behalf of Director, responsibility and duties as appropriate (i.e. attend meetings, issue reports, make decisions, lead resolution of critical issues etc.)
- Communicate and escalate concerns, potential risks, issues, or deficiencies identified that may have enterprise-wide impact to senior management to drive culture of compliance
- Strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to execute on multiple projects and understand how they fit into the larger Risk Testing Program
- Develops innovative solutions, involving other team members to promote a collaborative environment within the team
Qualifications You���������ll Need
The Basics
- Bachelor’s degree in business, security, law, computer science, data analytics, risk, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in compliance, law, risk, operations, regulatory examination, audit or related field
- 1+ years of experience in people management
- In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in compliance, law, risk, operations, including people management
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience or working knowledge of the financial services industry including card; consumer banking and lending industry including home loans, student loans and personal loans; payment services and husources
- Master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, security, law, computer science, data analytics, risk, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in compliance, law, risk, operations, regulatory examination, audit or related field
- CRCM, CAMS, JD, CISA, or similar license/certification
- Effective communication skills (both orally and in writing) with all levels of management
- Broad knowledge and application of Risk Management programs (e.g. Regulatory, Operational, Financial, Credit etc.) risk assessments, testing and monitoring, training, and policy
- Knowledge of regulatory environment, expectations, ratings
- Knowledge and understanding of the components of Compliance Management System and how the information pulls together (e.g. Corporate Hierarchy; mapped controls, procedures, risks etc.)
- Excellent analytic skills and the ability to dissect complex situations and processes
