About the role

We have an exciting opportunity within our Group Internal Audit function for a Senior Internal Auditor. As a Senior Internal Auditor you will work with Internal Audit Managers (IAMs) to perform audits and in doing so provide independent assurance that the Group’s key controls are adequately designed and operating effectively. On any given audit the Senior Internal Auditor will either work under an IAM or will lead the audit themselves, through the planning, fieldwork and reporting phases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing all allocated work in a timely manner and in line with GIA’s methodology.
  • Documenting allocated work in the audit file in line with expected documentation standards.
  • Conducting control testing and critically reviewing audit evidence.
  • Acting on feedback / review points received during the course of audit work.
  • Helping to draft key audit deliverables such as terms of reference and reports.
  • Assisting in positively promoting the Internal Audit function within the business.

Skills and Experience:

  • You must be able to effectively plan, organise and execute audit assignments, and engage constructively with stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Experience of risk-based auditing in Financial Services, either in an external or internal audit capacity, OR good experience of risk management / compliance in Financial Services.
  • Good knowledge of the challenges facing the Financial Services industry and the regulatory environment.
  • Results oriented ,able to deliver high quality results in an environment of changing demands, variable workloads and tight timescales.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Highly analytical, able to work with both low levels of detail and a big picture organisation wide perspective and think critically.
