**Senior Humanitarian Policy Advisor (Climate) Location: Moorfields, London (hybrid role working between home and office) Hours: 35 hours per week Contract type: Permanent Salary: £45,000 per annum (inclusive of Inner London Weighting allowance)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Humanitarian Policy professional.

What you will be doing**

We are looking for a Senior Humanitarian Policy Advisor (Climate) to work across both British Red Cross’s International (including with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the wider humanitarian community) and UK policy and advocacy teams and play a leading role in developing British Red Cross policy agenda on addressing the humanitarian impacts of climate change.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues in different departments a cross the British Red Cross, wider Red Cross Movement and humanitarian sector (both internationally and in the UK) to ensure the development and implementation of policy agendas and impactful advocacy strategies.

You’ll be required to set the strategic direction and lead on policy and / or technical advice within thematic work areas to support and strengthen the implementation of climate policy and advocacy priorities, ensuring a collective approach which draws upon our operational expertise and movement policy and practice.

This role may be for you if…

  • You have extensive experience of leading on climate policy advice and support and of undertaking climate policy development within a relevant role, sector, project or programme
  • You can demonstrate advanced knowledge of the humanitarian and climate policy context within the UK and internationally, along with advanced technical expertise within policy development and influencing, specialising in climate
  • You have proven research, writing, and analytical skills along with the ability to analyse both quantitative and qualitative data and interpret information to communicate to and persuade decision
  • You have strong leadership, negotiation, influencing and project management skills
  • You have a proven track record of establishing effective relationships with senior decision-makers and relevant interlocutors to influence and enable decision making
  • You have experience of working with colleagues from across a range of different teams and disciplines to deliver against plans
