Job Title: Senior Human Resources Associate

Department/Location: Vienna, VA

Reports To: Senior International Human Resources Manager

Type: Regular Full-Time

Classification: Non-Exempt

Overview: The Senior Human Resources Associate is responsible for excellent customer service with employment agreements, assisting with HR compliance, assisting with performance management, partnering with local offices, coordinating the corporate training and development program, and other HR activities. The position focuses on both U.S. and international HR customer service. The position requires a learning mindset, attention to details, and a strong work ethic. This hybrid position is located in Vienna, VA.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent HR customer service to all stakeholders; proactive solution provider
  • Lead all aspects of US, international and local employment agreements; execute employment agreements and amendments, remove contingent clauses, extend period of performance, update scopes of work, etc. Communicate changes to stakeholder and Payroll
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all company policies and state/federal regulations
  • Assist with the performance management program; manage the probationary performance review for local staff.
  • Partner with project officers to ensure local HR compliance. Oversee or execute employment closeout for local employees including the preparation of separation letters, certificates of service, etc.
  • Coordinate the IBTCI training and development program.
  • Maintain all personnel files; ensure documentation is in compliance with applicable labor laws and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of professional work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to be well-organized, have attention to detail and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and adaptability required.
  • Full proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Oral and written fluency in English required. Fluency in another language, particularly Spanish or Arabic desired.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration or related field.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the HR function and the ability to understand critical needs of the organization.
  • Strong understanding of the compliance needs of US regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines.
  • Experience with HR information systems
  • Previous experience with organizing and succeeding a fast-paced office.
  • Advanced reporting, writing and research skills.
  • Ability to effectively collect, synthesize and present information from diverse sources.
  • Knowledge of diverse cultures and cultural sensitivity
  • Prior work experience in International Development a plus.

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment. Currently the company is allowing for remote work due to COVID 19 in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. This can be updated by the company.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: Domestic travel may be required.

Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in the USA. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
