Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Senior Human Resources Officer and direct supervision of the Senior Human Resources Coordinator (Learning and Development), the incumbent will provide a range of technical and specialized support functions to the Integrated Talent Management Unit (ITMU) by assisting with the implementation of a series of virtual and in-person IOM training, managing associated vendor relationships and contracts, and performing other duties as needed

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the management of a range of SDL-related learning and development initiatives and all associated interactions, both internally and externally, including, but not limited to, the Strategic Thinking and Management Programme; Chiefs of Mission Learning Path; Young African Professionals Programme; Geopolitical Analysis Training and the Staff Exchange Programme.
  2. Coordinate communications with Translation Services at Headquarters for translatingSDL-related materials into French and Spanish.
  3. Liaise with ITMU colleagues in the procurement and contractual processes, including participating in or developing Long-term Agreements (LTAs) with vendors/partners, in coordination with relevant Divisions.
  4. Adapt and strengthen SDL’s activities to enhance and increase participation rates; contribute to awareness-raising activities to promote SDL offerings; collaborate with Regional HR Officers (RHROs) in identifying and meeting learning needs; and organise regular meetings with relevant RHROs to keep them informed about staff development and learning matters.
  5. Provide technical inputs for, and support the launch of SDL learning products, tools, and services.
  6. Provide overall support for the organization of in-person training events in Headquarters.
  7. Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

  • High School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field with four years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • At least one year of experience in project management, from planning to implementation and reporting;
  • At least one year of experience in learning and development; and,
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook, MSTeams, and MS Forms; previous experience in Oracle is a distinct advantage; experience using applications such as Zoom, Slido and Mural would also be an asset. • Attention to detail, ability to organize paperwork in a methodical way; and,
  • Discreet, details and client-oriented, patient and willingness to learn new things

Languages

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. All staff members are required to be fluent in one of the three languages.

For this position, fluency in English and French is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish) [please delete the language already mentioned as required] is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
