Summary of the position

The Senior Health and Nutrition Officer is responsible for Working with technical unit colleagues to ensure that the team provides effective, efficient, and relevant technical inputs, recommendations, and support.

Key relationships:

Technical unit team and other officers of Turkey Office Departments.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement SAMS’ quality assurance guidelines, testing methodologies, and supporting tools.
  • Review requirements to provide feedback on completeness, testability, and risk areas that could affect service quality.
  • Ensure service recipients and career feedback are collected and used to drive quality improvements for service providers.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with services providers in SAMS facilities including reviewing the quality of services delivered and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Work closely with projects and other departments to ensure the quality of processes and procedures.
  • Educate team members across the organization regarding the quality function and their role in ensuring quality standards are met (one team: unified overall objectives)
  • Provide technical support and follow-up for the implementation of infection and prevention control IPC in SAMS-supported health facilities.
  • Technical supervision for nutrition and community health activities ensuring achievement of their planned targets
  • Participate in the writing of health proposals from a technical perspective (NA, LF, HR …).
  • Collaborate with the IM department in obtaining statistical data, arranging, and organizing them in standard forms, and analyzing them to enhance the quality of services.
  • Representing SAMS in developing and revisiting of HC technical standards/packages.
  • Representing SAMS in different TWGs and Taskforces meetings.
  • Coordinate with the projects officer for the ongoing capacity building of the medical staff by developing required ToRs, implementing technical spot checks (as possible), and giving the feedback and recommendations.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Immediate manager.

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications required:

  • A university degree in Medical Science is required. A university degree in a Public Health or any related Specialization field is desirable.
  • proven experience of a minimum of 3 years in advising over programs in humanitarian contexts.

Languages:

Fluent written and spoken in Arabic (native) and intermediate written and spoken in English
