**Senior Fleet Manager Location: UK Flexible** Contract: Contract until March 2024 Hours: 35 per week Salary: Circa £50k per annum depending on experience (plus London Weighting of £3,344 if applicable)

Could you lead on the design, delivery, and implementation of the new British Red Cross’ fleet strategy?**

This is a unique opportunity for a knowledgeable and collaborative professional to provide both operational and strategic focus to our Fleet Management service.

Reporting to the Director of Internal Shared Services, you will help shape and lead the organisation’s fleet, throughout the lifecycle of all vehicles across the full range of services and manage the operating model change programme. You will ensure that policy, procedure, governance, and the provision of excellent service meets the strategic objectives of t he organisation.

More about the role

With ownership of the implementation of the fleet strategy, you will collaborate with other senior internal colleagues across finance, health and safety, corporate procurement, and senior service stakeholders to ensure consistency, compliance and reduced operational risk.

As a senior leader within Internal Services, this role is key in leading on the alignment of our current fleet to the organisation’s green strategy, identifying opportunities, and recommending appropriate actions to reduce our carbon footprint.

Responsible for the design and delivery of the future fleet operating model, you will encourage an approach of continuous improvement and effective asset management, making the best use of all organisational resources.

As Chair of the Fleet Management Group, you collaborate and liaise with operational stakeholders regarding performance measures, ac quisitions and disposals, budget, risk and compliance and consider and agree any recommendations or points for escalation to the Governance Group.

*This role has been classified as ‘hybrid’ and the successful candidate will work between home and any suitable British Red Cross Office. The working pattern can be 10-90% on site with the expectation that you would be available to attend an office for collaborative events such as meetings and training.

What we are looking for

As an experienced fleet professional, you will have experience of managing the lifecycle of a fleet of circa 300+ vehicles, setting fleet management strategy and policy, and managing and developing a fleet team servicing internal customers across a variety of vehicle types.

You will have experience of implementing change or design of a fleet operating model, setting and reporting on KPI’s and SLA’s, designing and deploying new systems and processes to add value, improve efficiency and provide continuous improvement.

You’ll have strong stakeholder management and communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to develop productive and collaborative working relationships which positively influence outcomes.

You will have knowledge of setting and delivery of green objectives relating to a fleet within a large organisation focussed on reducing their carbon foot print.

You will be commercially astute, having knowledge of the available financial tools and ownership mechanisms for providing and maintaining a fleet, optimising insurance and repair and maintenance investment.

You will have a genuine interest in upholding the British Red Cross Fundamental Principles, leading, and advocating for the organisation’s values promoting diversity, inclusion and ethical behaviours supporting people in crisis.
