Senior Financial Accountant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with our client leaders in the transport and logistics sector to join their Finance team as the Senior Financial Accountant on a permanent bases located in South Auckland.

The successful candidate will be required to provide timely and accurate recording and reporting of the company’s financial transactions. Prepare FBT returns and provide tax reporting and advisory services for the business.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely month end close and financial statements.
  • Provide accurate and timely GST and FBT return.
  • Work effectively with auditors and tax consultants to prepare for yearend review and lodge annual tax return and FBT returns.
  • Build effective and co-operative relationships with departments and wider finance team to assist in obtaining and ensuring accurate and timely input of data required in monthly financial reporting
  • Preparing accurate and timely tax and FBT return submissions.
  • Accurately record the company’s financial transactions in accordance with IFRS.
  • Compile monthly and annual reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare reconciliations of all assets and liabilities accounts monthly.
  • Work together with wider team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month end close.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to Finance Manager, including timely and accurate responses to queries from external and internal auditors.

Skills And Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in working in a senior financial accounting role within a large matrix global organisation.
  • Hold a relevant degree in accounting / finance and be CPA/CA qualified
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and wider team.
  • Experienced in developing hight quality innovative product’s services and solutions.
  • A team player, who aligns resources and the organisation within own area of responsibility to achieve objectives.
  • Champions continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure strategies are aligned to broader organisational strategy.
  • MS Office Software skills Excel (Intermediate), Word.
  • General Ledger system skills SAP.
  • TM1 or cube-based skills (preferable).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
