The Role

As Senior Finance Business Partner, you will play a key role in forecasting, reporting and influencing the financial and commercial outcomes in our Direct Business Unit.

You will be focused on monitoring the revenue and gross margin performance of the products and propositions we take to market.

Your key strength will be as a valued and trusted advisor to the Commercial Leadership Team, and in business partnering to those key stakeholders, your role will provide critical decision-making recommendations, balance support with probing and constructive challenge, and clearly and concisely explain key reporting and insight on profitability, cashflow and KPI’s.

The Team

You’ll be part of a team of like-minded Finance Business Partners, with whom you’ll work closely and will share a passion for growing and optimising the financial and commercial outcomes in our Direct business.

Your role will require you to work collaboratively with Commercial colleagues as a valued and trusted advisor, and provide support and challenge to their initiatives and opportunities.

You will work closely with other finance colleagues across TalkTalk to ensure delivery of timely and high quality reporting and analysis.

Role Expectations

This is a key role in the Commercial Finance team supporting the Direct channel, and one which will help unlock value and drive business performance through insight, action and accountability.

Key responsibilities in the role include:

  • A key contributor to the monthly financial review and reporting process and challenge for all impacts on revenue and gross margin for the Direct channel
  • Includes P&L and Balance Sheets review and reporting, and providing review and feedback into Commercial Leadership team and Group Finance teams
  • Lead the budgeting & rolling reforecasting process across EBITDA and cash for the Direct channel. Including review and challenge with Commercial Leadership team
  • Contribute to and attend the weekly R&O (risk & opportunities) forum with the DLT, including challenge to initiatives and assumptions
  • Senior member of the team providing support for the Commercial Director and their Leadership team
  • Own and develop the service margin model to forecast and track customer cohorts and associated financial outcomes
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve financial outcomes, processes, analysis and tools
  • Be seen as a role model and to support coaching and development of more junior members of the Finance community
  • Collaborate with confidence to influence key decision making with the business unit, willing to challenge as a vocal and valued member of the team
  • Lead the financial quantification of commercial opportunities and assist in the development of strategic business cases including investment appraisal to understand payback, EBITDA and NPV impact
  • Define management information requirements to support the leadership team in understanding performance and to track the impact of propositions and initiatives

  • You will be a qualified accountant with extensive experience within a Finance Business Partnering role, demonstrating the ability to be able to challenge and influence senior stakeholders within the business
