Senior Finance and Federal Compliance Manager, International Development

With 25 locations worldwide, we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance and Federal Compliance Manager to support Miyamoto’s federal programs and its growing portfolio of work in the international development + humanitarian assistance sector.

The key responsibilities of this position are:

Financial Management

  • Support the financial management and oversight of Miyamoto’s International Development practice.
  • Work with and across project teams to ensure proper financial documentation and timely reporting. Provide as-needed training and support for the preparation of monthly accruals by the field teams.
  • Compile donor financial reports, including monthly reimbursements for USAID awards.
  • Ensure month-end expenditures are filed on time and funds drawn down promptly from the PMS.
  • Compile financial monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts and monthly earned revenue reports.
  • Provide advice on the financial strategy for the ID practice to support % profit targeted and growth objectives.
  • Supervise the Finance Officer and provide guidance and learning opportunities for increased responsibilities.

Compliance and Award Management

  • Support annual audits, providing documentation/reporting as requested.
  • Work with Miyamoto’s project teams in understanding and addressing compliance issues.
  • Review donor awards and consultant contractual agreements and sub-awards to assure compliance with donor and company requirements.
  • Help develop processes and policies to ensure donor compliance.

Business Development (BD)

  • Support BD efforts as needed (budget review).
  • Provide guidance on building proposal budgets and estimating proposal development costs.
  • Work collaboratively with the BD Director on expected earnings projections.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in finance or accounting; licensed as a Certified Public Accountant advantageous
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with an in depth understanding of project financial management and USG contracting and compliance matters
  • Extensive experience working on USAID funded programs – both acquisition and cooperative grants; Department of State, DoD, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP, FAR and CFR with strong experience in federal compliance and procurement, preferably related to a For-Profit entity
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work with remote US-based and global teams
  • High energy with the ability to deliver results independently and successfully as a part of a global team
  • Advanced Excel, Adobe and Word skills
  • Fluent in English. French and/or Spanish a plus.
