About the job:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced events and fundraising candidate who will become an integral part of the team working behind the scenes to drive Dublin Simon Community’s high-profile fundraising Events and Engagement activity. Key projects include the #TheBusk, Carolathon and our Home Run five-mile race in Phoenix Park. The right candidate will be motivated and eager to develop and implement creative, profitable fundraising activities as well as extending our reach through our existing portfolio of events and projects, such as our schools programme and volunteer network fundraising. We are seeking someone who has experience in campaign and events fundraising and can work equally well as part of a team or while taking ownership over key projects throughout the year to achieve fundraising income targets.

Contract: full-time permanent.

Location: 5 Red Cow Lane, Smithfield, Dublin 7 / Hybrid Working.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday-Friday, 25 days annual leave.

Salary: 35-39K.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Events & Engagement Manager to develop and implement action plans for activity in keeping with the income targets and KPIs of the team.
  • Build positive relationships with donors and communities to maximise potential income while reaching monthly and annual targets.
  • Manage and control existing events and new projects from concept through closure, including risk management, budget management and target analysis.
  • Manage our ongoing community fundraisers to maximise income and develop new relationships and opportunities in this space.
  • Manage KPIs and post campaign analysis for each project, including documented observation and recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals and reports as necessary for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the volunteering database and influence key groups to support community & event activity.
  • Provide mentoring to executives, interns and volunteers within the team and the wider fundraising function as required.
  • Oversee administrative tasks relating to the team, including batching donations, database administration, income reporting and other tasks as required.
  • Manage direct mail and email marketing for the Events & Engagement team donor and volunteer lists

Essential for the role:

  • 2-4 years experience in an events/campaigns or fundraising role in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Educated to degree level in events/marketing/PR or similar or equivalent experience in the workplace.
  • Fundraising or NGO experience and knowledge of the homeless sector and charitable landscape in Ireland will be a distinct advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce, and donation platform software such as iDonate, Just Giving, Facebook Fundraising or similar
