Operational since 2020, Education.org is supported by a visionary co-investor collective and is growing partnerships across governments, agencies, NGOs, universities, businesses, and foundations around the world. In essence, this role will be part of a young, but grounded, foundation that aims to be a disruptor to the status quo in the education world, and therefore requires someone who can work in an environment which is fluid, agile and responsive to change.

THE ROLE

Education.org is creating the position of Senior Education Officer (SEO) located with Education.org’s Nairobi-based team, to grow our capabilities to advance the accessibility and use of education evidence for education leaders. Working closely with our Chair for Education Science & Policy, he/she will help to build on our early impact and accelerate progress by driving the development of best-in-class technical leadership to Education.org partners and collaborators. The SEO identifies, designs, and implements initiatives developed with country partners to improve the enabling institutional and policy environments for heightening evidence use in education at the government level in Sub-Saharan Africa and contributes to our work globally.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide technical leadership in the development of core portfolio activities, including thematic synthesis, high level leadership guidance, and country-level engagement.

· Bring a strong consultative capacity and trusted advisor for senior leaders and officials.

· Serve as the Technical Lead in our novel synthesis pathway, in close partnership with our Chief Product Officer and provide guidance to staff members and external partners involved in the project team.

· Represent Education.org in high level education meetings and networks, in collaboration with our CEO and Chair for Education Science & Policy.
