The Senior Director, Ethics and Compliance, will report to the General Counsel International Operations and Head of Legal, Compliance & Quality. This position is based at our office in Zurich, Switzerland.

The Position

Novo Nordisk International Operations (IO) is seeking a new Senor Director, Ethics & Compliance, to lead Ethics & Compliance in IO and further develop and implement our Ethics & Compliance program in alignment with Novo Nordisk’s overall Ethics & Compliance strategy. The Compliance program continues to mature in response to a more complex legal and regulatory landscape, with increased enforcement, high expectations from society and key stakeholders, and innovative and evolving business models and ways of working in our markets.

Our goal is to embed Ethics & Compliance up front, as part of the design, into existing and new ways of operating, and to engrain Ethics and Compliance into the culture and mindset in IO. We aim to proactively identify and mitigate risks and leverage digital solutions in close cross-functional collaboration in IO. In addition, the Senior Director, Ethics & Compliance will be member of the Global Compliance Forum and IO Legal & Compliance Leadership Team, as well as chair the IO Compliance Committee and the IO Ethics & Compliance team, in collaboration with the regional heads.

Qualifications

You hold a master’s degree and have gained several years practical Legal or Compliance experience, working in Legal, Compliance or Business roles. During this time, you have gained people management responsibility and you have driven international projects. You are motivated to improve the lives of patients and you are looking for an organisation where you connect with its purpose, play an integral role in its growth journey, whilst strengthening an ethical culture and driving the company values across the organisation.

Furthermore:

  • Your excellent written and oral communication skills enable you to engage on complex issues with colleagues from different organisational levels and multi-cultural backgrounds
  • You describe yourself as proactive, ambitious, pragmatic, with a solid understanding of the emerging Ethics & Compliance topics around the world, with a deep interest to innovate in this area
  • You demonstrate strategic thinking and can make Ethics & Compliance topics simple, ensuring that you other stakeholders can deliver with speed
