Position: Senior Corporate Paralegal

Experience: 5+ years corporate paralegal

Location: Austin, in-person with flexibility

The role: As a Senior Commercial Paralegal (Contracts Counsel), you will be a foundational team member in our growing in-house Legal Department. Every day, our Legal team collaborates with other departments within the company to help reach our business goals.

The Successful Senior Commercial Paralegal Will

  • Manage the contracting process and management system for all types of agreements
  • Act as an initial Legal point of contact for all Customer and Procurement (vendor) contracts with internal stakeholders and functional departments (HR, Sales, Customer Success, Government Relations, Finance, Operations, IT, etc.)
  • Help with external facing calls and communications related to contracting and other legal matters
  • Complete an initial assessment of requests for NDAs, vendor contracts, and certain customer contracts
  • Ensure the commercial & payment terms of vendor contracts are in line with corporate policies, standards, budgets, etc.
  • Ensure the organization’s internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained in accordance with company guidelines
  • Interact with outside legal counsels
  • Ensure contracts are executed in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Audit existing vendor contracts and oversees contract modifications
  • Identify potential improvements to existing contracting policies and procedures, collaborate across departments to implement needed changes
  • Coordinate and assist our internal Legal Counsel with the administration and management of our Legal Department

The DNA Of a Successful Senior Commercial Paralegal

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, paralegal certification, associate degree, legal degree, or equivalent experience;
  • At least 5+ years experience, preferably with an in-house legal department, including experience in helping with contracting processes and managing contracts and contract management applications
  • Experience working at a technology company and with technology-related contracts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word) ,Google Suite of applications, Adobe, and various e-signing systems (DocuSign and Adobe Sign) and general familiarity and experience with contract management applications
  • Texas notary public, preferred (we will help you establish and maintain this credential)
  • Ability to perform work under minimal supervision and perform triaging of multiple pending tasks
