FUNCTION OF TEAM

The Crown Agents Crisis Response & Recovery Unit (CRRU) support the development and delivery of highly effective and impactful programmes, often in protracted crisis environments, through our core capabilities in crisis response management, fund management, humanitarian supply chain services and early recovery programmes.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

Reporting directly to the Director of CRRU, and working closely with other CRRU staff and consultants, the Senior Consultant (SC) will contribute to the success of the team by securing and delivering a profitable and impactful pipeline of humanitarian and stabilisation programmes.

The SC will contribute to the delivery of the CRRU programme strategy whilst providing operational oversight and management support to the broader team and country programmes.

The SC will further develop the reputation of Crown Agents as a respected leader in Humanitarian and Stabilisation programme provision.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB

Win

  • Win new projects where suitable opportunities for CRRU emerge from donors and clients
  • Network with clients, partners and associate consultants to enhance client awareness of CA Humanitarian, Crisis Response, Recovery (CRR)and Stabilisation services and capabilities
  • Develop and manage relationships with senior clients and their teams, acting as a trusted expert in humanitarian, CRR and stabilisation advice
  • Identify new business opportunities, by helping clients identify and understand their vision/objectives for change;
  • Contribute to the growth of a robust profitable pipeline for Humanitarian, CRR and Stabilisation consultancy and programming.
  • Develop an understanding of humanitarian and stabilisation donors and success in accessing institutional funds.

Manage

  • Provide leadership for the CRRU team, including line management of relevant staff, consultants, sub-contractors and partners, and support them to deliver excellent programme outcomes.
  • Take the position of Project Manager or Project Director on new or existing projects as agreed with the CRRU Leadership
  • Ensure world class humanitarian and stabilisation service delivery to all clients ensuring effective delivery of results.
  • Lead in the development, coordination and management of pursuit capture plans.

Deliver

  • Lead in the technical development of fund management projects, informing the systems, processes and resources required to deliver such programmes
  • Guide and mentor project staff in the adoption of Crown Agent’s fund management systems and processes
  • Support CRRU recruitment efforts for project proposals and programmes, participating in candidate selection and interview
  • Adopt a strong working knowledge of FCDO CSSF and USAID OTI procurement and project delivery

Build

  • Build compelling and consistent humanitarian thought leadership; and
  • Provide strategic planning and insights into the future development and growth of the business area.

About you

Requirement

Qualification

  • A post-graduate degree from a top-tier university, or equivalent working experience

Experience

  • Relevant government or private sector experience in humanitarian and/or stabilisation programming essential.
  • Experience identifying, developing, and winning new business opportunities, preferably in stabilisation, development and humanitarian sectors.
  • Knowledge of FCDO CSSF and USAID OTI procurement and programme delivery a distinct advantage.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of fund management programmes is desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience working in complex and time-pressured contexts desirable.
  • Experience with humanitarian or commercial logistics is desirable
