Senior Commercial Controller (all genders)

Zalando’s Business Finance Organization (BFO) is looking for a highly motivated and qualified professional for the role of Senior Commercial Controller. You will be part of the finance team that supports our Partner Service business model (Zalando Marketing Service / ZMS and Platform Service) in identifying opportunities and improving the financial commercial performance and challenging current commercial practices.

WHY YOU SHOULD BE INTERESTED

• You’ll own and prepare regular performance reviews for partner services’ leadership team, introducing solutions to automate our current processes
• Furthermore, you’ll collaborate closely with the business, analyze, challenge and influence their commercial decisions to identify challenges, and implement best practices to drive value and our long-term growth
• You’ll contribute to partner’s profitability assessment and you will be the “Finance” voice to support commercial negotiations
• You’ll actively participate in or manage projects to ensure we are taking the right decisions in our business’ commercial practices and to strive to constantly improve our financial tools and processes to make better and faster decisions
• You’ll run ad hoc analysis, sort out and optimize commercial practices as well as analyze performance and identify financial exposure
• You’ll propose measures and solutions to prevent risks, seek opportunities, and improve business commercial efficiency from a financial perspective

• You come with a proactive, strategic, and entrepreneurial mindset with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, develop analytical frameworks and solve problems quickly
• You pay attention to details and have the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, though never losing the big picture out of sight
• You convince with your excellent command of verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to influence, you make an impact in addition to getting into details and articulating findings to an executive level
• You come with 6-8 years of experience in a mix of Finance, Business partnership and commercial experience; ideally you have a Master’s Degree in Finance (or a similar major) and worked in a relevant industry
• You persuade with your advanced knowledge in MS Excel; knowledge of SQL and/or Microstrategy are an asset
